AUGUST DARNELL is the latest songwriter to cash in on his back catalogue - selling hits including Annie I'm Not Your Daddy to music publisher One Media iP Group.
The singer has sold the writers' royalties of 1980s' band Kid Creole and the Coconuts, saying he wants to "look after his Coconuts way into the future".
The musician, born August Darnell in New York in 1950, enjoyed a string of hits in the early 1980s, which included Stool Pigeon and I'm A Wonderful Thing, Baby and in 1983 won a Brit Award for best international artist.
Kid Creole & The Coconuts were such a great live band back in their 1980s heyday.
Over a dozen of them on stage , including three man brass section, percussion and the three Coconuts.
I have seen them over a dozen times including....
four shows in 1982 ( one at The Lyceum and three at Hammersmith Odeon)
six shows in 1983 (all at Hammersmith Odeon as they played two UK tours that year )
