Introducing Amber Davies as Vivian, Ore Oduba as Happy Man/Mr Thompson and Oliver Savile as Edward – who’ll be starring alongside original SIX: the Musical queen Natalie Paris as Kit de Luca in the cast. (Disclaimer: Cast and performance schedule subject to change without prior notice.)
With a blazing rock score from Grammy® winners Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (Summer of ’69, Heaven), direction and choreography by Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Hairspray) and a book by the original movie’s director Garry Marshall & screenwriter J.F. Lawton, a powerhouse creative team representing the best of music, Hollywood and Broadway ensures you’ll have a pretty magical time at Pretty Woman: The Musical.
I did not see this musical show when it was in The West End.
It got pretty average reviews from it's run on Broadway and The West End.
It is now on a full UK tour of weekly stints at various theatres.
As expected it is pretty much a 75% female crowd here tonight.
The show is on for around 2 hours....two sets of 65 mins and 55 mins.
The show has many of the highlights from the 1990 film.
Basically the storyline is .....
Edward hires Vivian for six days on the grounds that he needs a dinner date, and a live-in hooker is less hassle than a girlfriend; eventually they fall in love and he decides corporate raiding is bad because… she’s nice?
The songs are simple, basic and catchy .
Lots of dance routines and plenty of rom-com moments.
It is a feel good evening , that ticked along nicely.
