This week sees the 35th anniversary of The 100 Punk Rock Festival at The 100 Club.I was there in 1976 to see Sex Pistols,Clash and Siouxsie And The Banshees with a certain Sid Vicious on drums.Hanging at the back of The 100 Club now is a picture with me near Steve Jones from the gig.

21 Sept 2011.I went to three events today.First was noon to 4pm at Square Meal Events And Venues showcase at Old Billingsgate,EC3.Over 100 of Londons top venues promoting their venues for hospitality use etc.

They gave us a free lunch and most stands were giving out freebie drinks and bits n pieces

then 6pm to 8pm was the Aramis party at W Hotel,Wardour Street,London W1.This was to launch their latest poster campaign.Lots of freebie Moet champers, quality cocktails and canapes.I got a couple of nice goodie bags with full size bottles of Aramis.A really good event.

then 9pm was Avril Lavigne live at Hammersmith Apollo,London.Avril has been a bit quiet in the UK for a while since the worldwide success of her 2002 album "Let Go" which sold over 16 million copies. She came on late at 9.40pm for her shortish 80 mins set.She is promoting her recent album "Goodbye Lullaby".Lots of screaming females in the packed venue. As expected its catchy lightweight pop punk.Set inc "Sk8ter Boy","When Youre Gone",a cover of Coldplays "Fix You","Girlfriend","Im With You".Her voice started playing up during the encore "Complicated" so i think the set was cut by two or three songs.A good gig.

20 Sept 2011.I went to three events today.First was 6.30pm to 7.30pm for The Lapada Art And Antiques Fair preview at Berkeley Square,London W1.Over 100 top quality sellers here. Some of the antique furniture is in stunning condition for its age.Freebie champers flowing for all.See www.lapadalondon.com

then 8pm to 9.45pm i was at the 20th anniversary of The Halkin Hotel,Halkin Street,London SW1.Super nice 5 star luxury boutique hotel just a stones throw from Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Corner in Belgravia.UK soul singer Alice Russell did a good 30 mins set.Lots of lovely free drinks and food going inc oysters and king prawns in marinated coconut.Thai based cuisine.Really fantastic hotel. The very attentive staff really looked after everyone.See www.halkin.como.bz/ for more info.

then 10pm to 11.30pm i went see Jessie J at The Blackberry Collection party at Sketch,London W1.Very hot and sweaty in here so not sure what happened to the air con.A few celebs in the corner inc Wretch 32,Tynchy Stryder,Jo Whiley and some of the TOWIE gang.Jessie J on stage for 50 mins.Lots of chat inbetween the songs again like the event i was at a couple of weeks ago.Set inc

"Do It Like A Dude","Domino","Stand Up","Whos Laughing Now?","Nobodys Perfect" and "Price Tag".Good stuff.Free booze was still flowing here too.
