Friday 21 June 2024. Fri and Sat and Sun this weekend. SKY ARTS are showing lots of highlights from The Isle Of Wight Festival. Reminds me of the only time i went to IOW Fest. Two festivals were on at the same weekend. My fave British band (The Sex Pistols) were playing Isle of Wight Festival , my fave American band (KISS ) were playing Download Festival , Derbyshire. We watched KISS on The Friday then a mad car drive and ferry down to The Isle of Wight for Sat and Sun. Friday 13 June 2008. KISS + Judas Priest + Motorhead + Disturbed at Download Festival. Saturday 14 June 2008. Sex Pistols + Ian Brown + Iggy & The Stooges at IOW Festival . Sunday 15 June 2008. The Police + James + Kooks + Starsailor at IOW. Special thanks to Rod MacSween for KISS at Download and John Giddings for IOW Festival. Also thanks to me ole mucker Bill Gaynor for putting me up for a nice few days in Gosport. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Thursday 20 June 2024. I went to two events tonight. 6pm to 6.50pm. Private view at Waddington Custot Gallery , 11 Cork Street, Mayfair, London W1. Brooklyn , New York based artist Landon Metz is showcasing his new series of paintings. Is on on until 09 August 2024....Free Entry. Complimentary wines for all the guests . 7pm to 9.30pm. GUCCI ART WALLS - launch party - 144 /146 New Bond Street , Mayfair, London W1. Gucci launch their new art that is hanging in their flagship store. A female DJ is playing tunes. At 7.45pm we had a speech from the artists and the Gucci spokesperson. Around 20 male models are serving the drinks/food. Complimentary Mezcal Negronis , Sparkling Wines , Bowl Food, Canapes and Desserts.
