Thursday 31 October 2024.

Thursday 31 October 2024. SUM 41 live at Wembley Arena. I have seen these Canadian pop punks a couple of times before , with the first time in 2002 at The Reading Festival when they supported The Foo Fighters and Muse. They have sold over 15 million albums. They are in a UK and European Tour. Sum 41 are promising a full two hour show with lasers , confetti cannons and balloons. --------------- Not sold out tonight, but they still draw a massive crowd. Maybe 10,000 tickets sold out of a 12,500 capacity . It is stalls standing tonight, so very lively with dozens crowd surfing throughout the evening. KAREN DIO are on at 6.45pm for 30 mins. Young Brazilian punk rocker did a good set of catchy pop punk , including the track ' Sick Ride'. THE BRONX are on at 7.30pm for 40 mins. Los Angeles band have released half a dozen albums ,over the past 20 years. A bit too punk hardcore for me, as I prefer the catchy pop punk sound. SUM 41 on at 8.45pm for 2 hours 10 mins, but 5 mins of that was for a serious medical issue in the stalls standing area that stopped the show . As promised , it is a full.montybstage production. Loads of lights and lasers, pyros, flames, dry ice, confetti , streamers, balloons ...but there is one thing missing. There are no big screens , which would not go down well with those sitting at the end of the venue. The singer got the crowd to do circle pits. The frontman’s energy was infectious, he raced around the stage throughout the evening and cut a genuine figure on stage as he expressed his love and gratitude for the fans, who he affectionately referred to as his “family”. Highlights included ' Fat Lip' , ' Still Waiting' and ' In Too Deep'....an enjoyable show. Full SUM 41 setliat played tonight... Tape into - T.N.T.
