Always nice to be at this famous five star hotel that has excelled at the finer things in life: glamorous design, inspiring dining, impeccable service, since the 1850s. There are 400 on the guest list for the event in their ballroom. At 7.30pm we have a couple of speeches , including one from new Conservative leader KEMI BADENOCH. Guests included London Mayor SADIQ KHAN. Complimentary Laurent Perrier champers, wines , canapes and desserts . ALIX PARTNERS were one of the sponsors and they gave everyone a goodie bag that included a long umbrella and short umbrella . Alix Partners is a financial advisory and global consulting firm best known for its work in the turnaround space.Jay Alix founded what became Alix Partners LLP in 1981. They have over 2500 employees in over 20 cities worldwide. --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Tuesday 19 November 2024. WILD RIVERS live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Canadian folk-pop-rock band are on a world tour to promote their fourth studio album 'Better Now'. ------------- The venue is totally sold out tonight. Another show with dozens on the guest list . RILEY PEARCE is on at 8pm for his 30 mins set. An ok bunch of songs with his acoustic guitar. WILD RIVERS are on at 9pm for their 85 mins. Five musicians on stage with the main trio at the front. Two male and one female share the great vocals. Also some very nice harmonies. The female reminded me of Phoebe from Friends. Sadly they was no version of her 'Smelly Cat'. It was pretty much mid paced 70s style folk-pop-rock , but the last two songs of the main set ' What Kind of Song' and 'Stubborn Heart' were much more livelier. An enjoyable show.
