Also Friday 28 Feb - Colchester Arts Centre. Also Saturday 01 March - Ramsgate Music Hall. I have seen Glen over 30 times with The Sex Pistols and around 50 times as a solo artist , and with various other bands , including The Rich Kids and his stint with The Faces. ---------------- Good to see a full house here for this legend. Good to see so many punk rockin' chums here Glens Rich Kids band mate RUSTY EGAN was here. Up first , we have a very nice special guest . KATHY VALENTINE arrived on stage at 8.15pm for her 45 mins. Kathy was the bass player in American band The Go-Gos. Valentine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October 2021 as a member of The Go-Go's. Just her and her guitar playing a nice mix of Go-Gos tracks, solo tracks and a cover of Suzi Quatros 'Can The Can'. For the last two songs she was joined by the three members of Glen Matlocks band. GLEN MATLOCK BAND arrived on stage at 9.20pm for their 85 mins set. Nice to be up close to the stage at this iconic venue. Glen has a great band with Chris Musto on drums , Jim Lowe on bass and superb guitar licks from Neal X. Glen tells the crowd his usual " tonight we are gonna play something old, something new, something borrowed and something bluesy ", so we get a nice mix of tracks. It was a totally excellent set by Glen and the band. This was the full setlist played... MYLES SMITH live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Myles Smith (age 26) is a British singer and songwriter from Luton, England. He is best known for his 2024 hit singles "Stargazing" and "Nice to Meet You", that both made Top 10. This show sold out very quickly, so an extra London show has been added at Hammersmith Apollo on 26 March 2025, which is now also sold out.....It is part of his world tour. In the summer of 2025 he supports Ed Sheeran on his tour. A couple of reviews have said "Myles is the black Ed Sheeran ". Myles will be performing at The BRIT Awards on 01 March . --------- Tonight is fully sold out. KAMAL arrived on stage at 8pm for his 30 mins set. Him and his piano , along with his guitarist with decent tunes. MYLES SMITH arrived on stage at 9pm for his 85 mins set. Myles was backed by a three piece band. A very nice stage production , as we have tons of lights , including 100 lightbulbs hanging over the stage. His youngish crowd don’t just film Smith singing the songs that have been released already, but film themselves singing along with them. In fairness, this is exactly the kind of atmosphere Smith’s pop-folk anthems are designed to create. With many of them clearly influenced by big hitters such as Ed Sheeran, George Ezra and Coldplay , this year’s Brits Rising Star award winner is certainly not aiming for the fringes. Every other chorus is laden with Coldplay type “ohh-ohhs”… or, for variety, some “ohh-ohh-ohhs” as well. The uptempo songs were the best for me, which is included a great opening of ' Wait for You' and also 'Solo' , 'Nice to Meet You' and a superb extended version of 'Stargazing' , which was the final song of the night , with confetti cannons. He will be headlining arenas pretty soon i reckon. A very good show.
