THE WHO + LEVEL 42 live at The Royal Albert Hall.
This was show four of the seven TCT shows at RAH this week.
I have seen The Who around 30 times since Dec 1975 when Keith Moon was still alive on drums.
My most recent The Who shows included both their excellent TCT RAH shows last year, where Squeeze were the support act.
When these shows arrive ROGER DALTREY will be aged 81,and PETE TOWNSHEND will be aged 79.
I have also seen Level 42 around 30 times , as they were regulars at Hammersmith Odeon when i worked front stage security. In Dec 1990 they played FIFTEEN shows there, and I was at a dozen of them .
ROBERT SMITH takes over from ROGER DALTREY as the curator for the TCT shows next year.
---------
The venue is rammed solid sold out .
I saw PAUL WELLER in a Level 1 box.
LEVEL 42 on stage at 7.30 for their 45 mins set.
Both bands tonight had a full light show , and are showing live
footage of their sets on the big screen.
The Sex Pistols gig did not have live footage on the big screen.
Mark Kings slap bass style is still pretty amazing.
They had a three man brass section .
All their big hits played in theIr really good set.
Full LEVEL 42 setlist played tonight...
Heaven in My Hands
To Be With You Again
Running in the Family
The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)
Starchild
Something About You
Lessons in Love
The Chinese Way
Hot Water
Just before The Who , we had the TCT speech .
THE WHO on stage at 9pm for their 1 hour 55 mins set.
Roger Daltrey is aged 81 , but his voice is still fantastic.
Even Pete said tonight how good he sounded.
Pete playing plenty of nifty guitar , even though his stage movements were a bit restricted due to a recent knee operation.
Long time band member Zak Starkey is still there on drums .
Soooo many great classics songs in an excellent show.
Full setlist played by THE WHO tonight...

LAUREN MAYBERRY live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
Scottish singer and front woman of electro pop band Chvrches Lauren Mayberry returns with her debut solo album ' Vicious Creature' , which was released on EMI/Island .
It dipped into the charts at 49 , when it was released in Dec.
---------
Levels 2 and 3 are closed , but stalls and Level 1 full.
Both the support acts were females so we had three really good female fronted acts tonight.
WOLFFE and band on stage at 8pm for 30 mins.
Wolffe is a tall slim long haired blonde who has model looks.
She performed a good set of rock pop tracks.
AZIYA and band on stage at 8.15pm to 30 mins.
Another female with a nice edgy rock pop sound.
LAUREN MAYBERRY and band on at 9.20pm for 65 mins.
Lauren is aged 37 , but looks 15 years younger.
She twirls around the stage , and mixes in some kooky banter.
A rant about upskirting was funny.
Lauren said it was the last night of the UK tour .
Her set was all twelve tracks from the album and an excellent cover of ' Bitter Sweet Symphony'.
Lauren was joined on stage by Wolffe for a duet.
Lauren's overall sound seemed influenced by 1990s female singers like Alanis Morissette.
It was a really good enjoyable show.
