Thursday 24 April 2025...6.15pm to 10pm... BRILLIANT GASTRO - launch party - Seva Drive , Parkside Yards , The Green Quarter, Southall. A few minutes from Southall Elizabeth Line Station is The Green Quarter , where over a dozen blocks of flats and several green spaces have been built by Berkeley Homes, in one of London's largest regeneration projects Celebrated Chef DIPNA ANAND , owner and Head Chef of the iconic family-run 50 years in the same premises Brilliant Restaurant, cookbook author and TV Chef is bringing her latest culinary venture to The Green Quarter, Berkeley’s landmark regeneration project in Southall, West London. Famous for her mastery of traditional Indian cuisine, Dipna is expanding her presence in her home neighbourhood of Southall with a gastro-style eatery, blending Indian flavours with Western classics in a relaxed, casual dining atmosphere. Around 150 guests here ,including the local MP. A huge Gastro Pub with indoor and outdoor space. At 7pm we have speeches which included two young boys from the owners family who were hilarious . A DJ is playing tunes in the background . There is a big screen outside with deckchairs Lots of complimentary drinks and food tonight. Any spirit n mixer, prosecco, wines, beers , Guinness . Sad news that ROY THOMAS BAKER has passed away aged 78. Roy Thomas Baker, the legendary record producer behind Queen, The Cars, Motley Crue, Devo, Ozzy Osbourne and Cheap Trick and others has died at the age of 78. Baker died in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, USA Baker produced the first four Queen albums ‘Queen’ (1973), ‘Queen II’ (1974), ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ (1974) and ‘A Night At The Opera’ (1976) and then came back two albums later for ‘Jazz’ (1978). Roger Taylor of Queen said of Baker, “I think he brought a certain amount of discipline and a lot of cynicism and a passion for fattening desserts. He liked his food, Roy. He was very disciplined and very strict in the beginning . . . he would always get it right. The take had to be right.” The Queen signature song ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is a Roy Thomas Baker production.
