04 Nov 2011.Jim Davidson + Lloyd Hollett live at The Beck Theatre,Hayes,Middx.On the outskirts of West London is this cosy all seated theatre.I first went here in 1993 for a double bill of Sister Sledge and Judge Dread.
Up first tonight we had Lloyd Hollett who did a 40 mins set.A bit rude,a bit corny but still good fun.
The crowd here is mainly older white working class.
Jim Davidson is now aged 57 and was massive in the 1970s and 1980s but his style of comedy has gone out of fashion and the tv stations will not touch him anymore.
Davidson has been well known for making offensive jokes about ethnic minorities, homosexuals and disabled people in his stand-up act, which has made him a subject of negative media coverage and frequent criticism.Some critics describe Davidson as "extraordinarily foul-mouthed, racist, and sexist" and a "throwback"; whilst Garry Bushell describing Davidson as a "family entertainer". In a Channel 4 poll of the 100 Worst Britons, Davidson came in at number 20.
His 80 mins set was a bit rude,crude and offensive as expected as everything and everyone was a game target.Overall i just thought Jim was really funny from start to finish.
03 Nov 2011.7.15pm to 10.15pm Stonewall Awards at The Victoria And Albert Museum,South Kensington,London.
This is probably the main awards event for the gay and lesbian community and those that inspire them.Over 500 folks here in this lovely venue with the awards held in the huge Raphael Cartoons room.Freebie champers all night.Canapes inc oysters before the awards and lots of different bowl food and desserts after the awards.Comedian Stephen K Amos was the host.11 awards given out inc Anton Hysen(Sports Award)From Sweden he is the ONLY openly gay professional footballer in the world.Vanessa Feltz(Journalist Of The Year)Always speaks out in favour of gay equality.Scott Mills(Broadcast Of The Year).Radio 1 dj did a tv documentary which included him being treated for his homosexuality by a witch doctor with live chickens.
Other faces here tonight included Paul Gambaccini,Dan Gillespie singer of The Feeling,Christopher Biggins,Louis Spence,Harry from TOWIE,Jodie Harsh and Gok Wan.Djs spun some tunes and there was a dressing up fun photo booth.A really good event.
02 Nov 2011.Went to three events today.First was 6.30pm to 8.30pm for The Legacy List Charity Auction at 50 St James,London SW1.Lots of upmarket folks in this very nice venue Freebie Pommery champers,different cocktails and canapes.This chartity supports events related to the London 2012 Olympics so a few faces here inc Mayor Boris Johnson,artist Tracey Emin and sports stars Ilie Nastase(Tennis),Michael Johnson(Track And Field),Marvin Hagler(Boxing),Nadia Comaneci(Gymnastics),Sean Fitzpatrick(Rugby).A decent goodie party and a very good event.Then
8.45pm to 9.45pm was the GHD Hair Products Party For Media at 68 Dean Street,Soho,London W1.Just a small event for 30 people but there is a lot going on.Free drinks and canapes.The girls get a free hair and makeup session and the guys do a still life drawing in the other room.I must be the worst here.Three or four rubbish attempts.We also have a dance display,burlesque and a magic act.Then
10pm to 11pm was the launch of fashion and beauty website

Free beers and wines still flowing even though it was a 7pm start.Nice surpise to see Leee John from 80s act Imagination here.A decent goodie bag here.
