Tuesday 01 July 2025. STEVEN WILSON JR live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Hailing from the hollers of southern Indiana, Stephen Wilson Jr. has taken a winding path to his musical career, making stops as a boxing finalist, scientist, and indie rock band member before finding his voice as a solo artist. His songwriting prowess and distinctive voice have positioned him as a leading voice in the evolving country music landscape. This show is the last date on his UK and European Tour which includes playing this years Glastonbury Festival. This show sold out in advance. ------------ The venue is rammed solid sold out tonight . SCARLETT LORAN on stage at 8pm for 25 mins. Scarlett and her guitar, along with a keyboard player played some mellow folk songs . STEVEN WILSON JR on stage at 8.50pm for 2 hours 5 mins. Stephen Wilson Jr. is backed by three musicians , including some nice pedal steel playing. Steven has plenty energy as he darts Wilko style across the stage during many songs It is a mix of musical performance and heartfelt storytelling, with a focus on creating a sincere connection with the audience, with relatable lyrics and powerful vocals. The band were nice and loud, but they drowned out his vocals a bit too much . Also his storytelling between tracks took up a bit too much time for me, but the crowd loved it . His set included a cover of ' Stand By Me'. An enjoyable enough show ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Monday 30 June 2025...6.30pm to 9pm... OLD MASTERS - sale preview - Christie's , 8 King Street, St James's, London SW1. Around 300 guests here at this well known big gallery space. Many great paintings on display. Many have a guide price of over £1m for the auction sale , which is held the following day. Complimentary Nyetimber English Sparkling Wines, Negronis , Peach Bellini's and canapes .
