Monday 15 September 2025...I went to three events tonight...
6.30pm to 8.15pm .
APPARATUS -; 7 Mount Street , Mayfair , London W1
The first two events were related to London Design Week Mayfair.
Founded in 2012, Apparatus is a New York based interdisciplinary design studio that explores the relationship of lighting, furniture, objects and spaces.
A cool looking crowd here.
Complimentary Laurent Perrier champers and white wines.
then
8.20pm to 9.30pm.
MANDARIN ORIENTAL SOHO HOTEL - Hanover Square , London W1.
This five star hotel opened a few months ago , and rooms here are over £1000 a night.
The design of the Mandarin Oriental,Soho incorporates modern architectural elements by RSHP with chic public interiors by Curiosity and lavish guest rooms and suites by Studio Indigo, blending British style with subtle Asian influences. Key features include a dramatic spiral staircase, rich natural materials like marble and fine timber, and bespoke furniture and lighting, with hand-painted silk wallpaper adding an exquisite focal point in the rooms. The design aims for quiet luxury, using a palette of emerald green, maroon, and turquoise, with brass and gold accents, alongside architectural features that maximize natural light.
Another cool crowd in their stunning bar area , which is accessed by their beautiful spiral staircase .
Amazingly a nice guy from Northern Ireland came over and said he always reads my website and was hoping to bump into me this week.
Complimentary Gusbourne English Sparkling Wines, red and white wines, beers and top notch canapes and sushi.
then
10pm to 12pm..
THE PRODUCERS -press night party - Albert's Schloss, 20 - 24 Shaftesbury Avenue London W1.
The show was held earlier at The Garrick Theatre.
Mel Brooks is 99 now, but sadly was not here.
This bad taste musical directed by Mel Brooks based around Hitler was written by him back in 1967.
I must get around to seeing it again.
Over 300 guests in this huge venue.
I didn't recognise any big names in the cast but there were a few well known names here including TERRY GILLIAN (see photo), ALISON STEADMAN, TOM ALLEN, MEERA SYAL, SANJEEV BHASKER, ALISTAIR McGOWAN, RONNI ANCONA and
PAUL SINHA .
At 11pm it got very lively for 30 mins as the band got staff and guests to dance on the tables and chairs .
A DJ playing tunes before and after the band.
Complimentary drinks and food included two different cocktails, prosecco, wines, beers , burgers, chicken strips and canapes.
We left at midnight, but it was due to finish at 1am..

Sex Pistols + Offspring + Social Distortion + Bad Religion +Buzzcocks + Blink 182 + New Found Glory + X + Damned Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavillion,Devore , California , USA 14.09.2002
What an amazing location to see The Sex Pistols . Sold out 65,000 venue set in the desert of the Californian mountains in 100 degrees midday sun.It was great to see The Damned and The Buzzcocks here after they had missed out on the C Palace show .Bands like Social Distortion and Offspring are huge in California. In fact punk rock is now huge over here .Sex Pistols did a 65 mins greatest hits set that was just amazing . Johnny was on great form as usual and those punk classics came fast and furious .
A couple of days after we saw THE WHO at The Greek Theatre.
