Thursday 25 September 2025....I went to two events tonight... 5pm to 6pm . SIMMONS - showcase - 35 Eastcheap , Monument , London EC3. Popular bar brand have 15 locations in London and 1 in Manchester . Simmons Monument isn't your average city slicker. A stone's throw from Monument station, this decade-defying party bar is easy on the wallet and heavy on the good vibes. Playing host to the city's most talked-about happy hour and unrivalled late-night parties. Boasting two floors of uninhibited fun, a huge neon-drenched club room, and its own DJ booth - Simmons Monument is available for full or semi-private hire! This large venue has a capacity of 250 over two floors They have a bargain Happy Hour 4pm to 9pm most days where bottles of beer and a glass of wines are only £3. We are in their private space downstairs, maybe 50 or 60 guests. A focus on Christmas bookings so the food is Christmas related and I have a couple of complementary cocktails and prosecco. We only stay an hour as we had to move to the main event. then 7pm to 11pm . THE IVY - launch party - 31-37 Northcote Road, Battersea , London SW11. The Ivy Collection have over 40 locations across the UK. The Ivy Northcote Road offers a stylish new dining destination in Battersea. Experience modern British cuisine alongside beloved Ivy classics in a welcoming and elegant setting. The staff are all wearing their classic uniforms, and do a great job of looking after all the guests. A DJ was playing tunes , and there was a live sax playing covers. Lots of complimentary drinks and food , including The Ivy's own champers , three different cocktails ( Margaritas, Old Fashioned and Espresso Martinis) , wines, beers , and lots of lovely food including king prawn tempura , canapes and desserts . --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Wednesday 24 September 2025...I went to two events tonight... 6.15pm to 8pm . LAUNCH PARTY - 1 Poultry , Bank, London EC2. This historic building is opposite The Ned. Hyper Studios are opening three contemporary galleries on different sides of the building. Over 200 guests are moving between them. Complimentary wines , beers and early arrivals had canapes. then 8.45pm to 11.30pm . PUNK ROYALE - launch night - 6 Sackville Street ,Mayfair, London W1. A very interesting name for a new restaurant in Mayfair. It has the word ' PUNK ' in it , so has been on my radar for ages. Punk Royale's journey began with a bold vision: to disrupt the traditional fine dining landscape with an experience that blends gastronomic excellence with a touch of punk ethos. Punk Royale: The Rebellious Spirit of Sweden's Fine Dining. The outside is all black and you cannot see inside. Just nine tables on the ground floor. Two sessions every evening at 5.45pm and 8.45pm. Everybody gets the same food and drinks at the same time. All phones are to be put in locked boxes so diners can focus on the food and the theatrics of the staff who are non stop . Glow in the dark prints of Vivienne Westwood and David Bowie on the walls , along with great loud sounds , and halfway through we had a light show and dry ice. Punk Royale in London serves a "Menu Royale" which includes a minimum of 20 small / canape sized courses with the finest ingredients as part of its "Total Over Delivery" experience, though the elaborate tasting menu is served in an opulent but outrageous setting, for a unique "performance, part dinner party" experience. The menu features ultra-luxe ingredients presented unconventional ways, such as lobster spoon-fed to diners , creamy chicken liver and caviar bumps. Drinks were champers, Negronis , vodka shots and various wines. It was a fantastic and totally different fun dining experience.
