Sunday 02 November 2025. ADAM ANT + TOYAH live at The Roundhouse. This show sold out a month in advance. Adam Ant is playing a lengthy UK tour. I have seen both these acts many times since their 1980s heyday. I first saw them both in 1979 , when they were both support acts. When they were both starting out , both Adam Ant and Toyah were in the Derek Jarman 1978 film ' Jubilee'. I went to see this film back when it was released. Adam Ant is 71 the day after this gig. Toyah makes entertaining short video tributes with her husband Robert Fripp for the internet. ----------- Again, lots of folks here i know at this venue. TOYAH and band arrived on stage at 7.45pm for their 40 mins. Toyah is now looking great for her 67 years young and enjoying a wave of fresh popularity with her regular ‘YouTube Sunday Lunch' broadcasts.Toyah’s voice is stronger now than it’s ever been and her physical energy is no less.Nice engaging banter with the crowd....a really good set , including her big hits like ' Thunder in the Mountains' , 'Its a Mystery ' and ' I Want to be Free '. ADAM ANT and band arrived on stage at 9pm for their 95 mins. The first thing you notice is he still uses two drummers, who sound fantastic . One female and one male on raised platforms behind Adam . Adam is looking and sounding great. The set included all his biggest hits , including his number ones . Adam stares at the crowd between songs, and offers some basic banter. Some tracks have him dancing and twirling like in his videos. Overall so many great songs in am excellent show. Full ADAM ANT setlist played tonight... THE STRANGLERS + THE BUZZCOCKS live at The Roundhouse . The Stranglers play the second of two shows at this London venue. Both these shows sold out six weeks in advance The Stranglers return to the Roundhouse as part of their ’51’ tour, following a monumental 50th anniversary year filled with sell-out shows and festival headline slots worldwide. With an unforgettable summer of open-air performances and the release of their landmark live album Fifty Years In Black, the legendary British new-wave pioneers continue their unstoppable legacy. Formed in 1974, The Stranglers transcended the punk movement with their signature blend of menace and musicianship, delivering hits like Peaches, No More Heroes, Golden Brown, and Always The Sun. Their latest album, Dark Matters, became their highest-charting release in nearly four decades. Joining them as special guests are the iconic Buzzcocks, the Bolton-bred kings of punk, whose anthems like Ever Fallen in Love defined a generation. Expect a night of pure energy, legendary hits, and unrelenting attitude. I have seen both bands many times since the 70s punk heyday . Both bands now have only one original member. --------------------------- At 5pm we all meet up at the nearby Wetherspoons pub by the canal , for a couple of hours of drinks before the show....many other Stranglers fans are here....nice and buzzy. THE BUZZCOCKS arrived on stage at 7.45pm for their 45 mins set. Steve Diggle is not the best singer , but he is an original member. Great to hear those old Buzzcocks gems again. Destination Zero Orgasm Addict Manchester Rain Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have ) Harmony in My Head THE STRANGLERS arrived on at stage at 9pm for their 95 mins set. Their very loyal fans have turned out in force as usual . I bump into lots of folks here i know. A nice stage production , with a great light show and several mini screens behind them showing pre-recorded images. Only bassist Jean-Jacques Burnel, 73, remains from the days when The Stranglers set out from Guildford touring in drummer Jet Black’s ice cream van, prior to their emergence during punk. However, Sunderland singer-guitarist Baz Warne has now been a Strangler for 25 years, his tenure going on double that of original singer Hugh Cornwell, who went solo in 1990. I loved the Hugh era, and Baz does a great job on those tracks , which are around a third of the set. The more recent songs also sound great , and the overall sound quality is perfect . Baz signs off with " see you in another 41 years". A great show. Full STRANGLERS setlist played tonight. Goodbye Toulouse Straighten Out Was It You?
