THE CLONE ROSES live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
The Clone Roses return, performing all the Madchester anthems we all know and love.
From selling out Blackpool Empress Ballroom to performing at the iconic Spike Island site on the banks of the River Mersey in front of a sell-out 15,000 strong crowd, the band have become hugely popular amongst Roses fans old and new and will be inviting some of the UK’s finest tributes as guests on tour.
The show will also feature support from Oasish and The Smiths Ltd.
I saw this very nice three band tribute at this venue last year, and the year before that .
This three band package has sold a lot more tickets for this show this year , which no doubt is related to the Oasis reunion shows a few months ago and the shock news that Stone Roses bass player 'Mani' died just two days before this show.He was aged just 63....hopefully they will play tribute to him.
This is the first time this three band tribute has sold out Shepherds Bush Empire.
1800 tickets sold for tribute bands...very impressive.
I have seen the real Stone Roses live a few times.
I have seen the real Oasis live several times.
I never got to see The Smiths , but have seen Morrissey solo several times.
--------------
The atmosphere in the venue is really great from the start.
The rowdy fans are drinking the bars dry on this Saturday night.
Ages range here from teenagers to folks in their 60s.
All the bands have the look and sound of the real bands.
All the bands pay tribute to Mani at some stage .
Clone Roses have a bass on stage lit up that looks like Manis centre stage .
All the bands play a greatest hits set , so plenty of classics played.
The crowd are singing loudly , and the front stalls is bouncing
THE SMITHS LTD arrived on stage at 7.15pm and play for 45 mins.
OASISH arrived on stage at 8.15pm and play for 55 mins.
THE CLONE ROSES arrived on stage at 9.35pm and play for 85 mins.
Highlights included Oasish getting the crowd to do a full ' Poznan' for ' Cigarettes & Alcohol'.
The Clone Roses dedicating a stunning ' This Is The One ' to London , Manchester and Mani.
The Clone Roses mentioning local Shepherds Bush team QPR win today .
A great evening .
