Saturday 20 December 2025.
TREVOR HORN and his band live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
Trevor Horn (now aged 76) is a legendary producer of many hits by different acts.
He will be playing many of them tonight, or tracks connected to the artists he produced.
Horn gained fame in 1979 as a member of the Buggles, who achieved a hit single with "Video Killed the Radio Star". He was invited to join the progressive rock band Yes, becoming their lead singer.
In 1981, Horn became a full-time producer, working on successful songs and albums for acts including Yes, Dollar, ABC, Malcolm McLaren, Grace Jones and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
This will be a stalls seated show .
LOL CREME from 10cc will be in Trevor Horns band.
I saw 10cc four times with their four
original members, including their last ever show together which was as the main support to The Rolling Stones at Knebworth in 1976.
Support is BELOUIS SOME who I saw twice supporting Nik Kershaw at Hammersmith Odeon back in 1984.
Belouis Some ,now aged 65 , is a British singer, songwriter and musician. He had UK and worldwide hits in the 1980s with "Some People", "Imagination" and "Round, Round", the latter being featured on the soundtrack for the John Hughes film ' Pretty in Pink'. "Some People" and "Imagination" charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
------------
Not sold out tonight , but all levels are open and it is stalls seated so maybe 700 or 800 here .
Stalls seated and an older crowd , made it a lot quieter than the rowdy crowd from last night's The Wonder Stuff show at the same venue.
BELOUIS SOME arrived on stage at 7.45pm for their 45 mins set.
He has kept a low profile for many years.
Belouis Some set ticked along ok, and good to hear 'Imagination' near the end of the set.
TREVOR HORN and his band arrived on stage at 9pm for their 1 hour 55 mins set
Trevor plus six musicians and three backing songs ( 2 Female and 1 Male) who also sang lead on some of the songs.
Great to see Lol Creme sing on two of the three 10cc classics performed.
Oddly no ABC songs performed in the set, or maybe it was because ABC recently toured.
Trevor told a few stories behind the recording of some tracks.
Nice surprise to see SEAL guesting on vocals for all the four song encore.
He did an excellent job , and sealed ( gettit?) a great evening.

Friday 19 December 2025.
THE WONDER STUFF live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
I have seen them a few times before including last year at the same venue. The band scored one UK number 1 single, their release of "Dizzy" with comedian Vic Reeves, 17 x Top 20 single hits in the UK and three top-10 albums in the UK. The band also toured internationally, and achieved some success in the United States, where they had six songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart.
-------------
No sold out sign outside the venue , but the venue is very full.
Mainly middle aged blokes, who remember them from their heyday, who are out for a Christmas knees up.
VENT 414 arrived on stage at 8.05pm for their 30 mins set.
They were the side project of The Wonder Stuff singer Miles Hunt from 1994 to 1997.
Miles fronts the band tonight and is backed by two musicians , for the decent set.
THE WONDER STUFF arrived on stage at 9.10pm for their 90 mins set.
Six musicians on stage, including a female on electric violin. Three guitarists on most songs.
One of the guitarists is wearing a Sex Pistols t shirt .
Miles Hunt and co are really on top form tonight. A great set featuring all their best known tracks. Their loyal fans down the front are singing and dancing madly, especially in the second half.
They created a great big uptempo lively sound, to make a proper live gig atmosphere.
