It was announced that Biffy Clyro have struck the right chord once again, the Scottish heavyweights securing their fourth Official Number 1 Album with 'Futique '. Biffy Clyro bass player James Johnston has announced he will not join the band on their upcoming UK and European tour because of mental health and addiction issues. The 45-year-old wrote to fans on the band's social media pages, saying he had concealed his issues for a long time. He said he had recently started to receive professional help and assured fans "there is light at the end of the tunnel". Biffy Clyro headline a massive outdoor in Finsbury Park July 2026. The main support band are SOFT PLAY. Soft Play are an English punk rock duo formed by Isaac Holman (lead vocals, drums) and Laurie Vincent (backing vocals, guitar, bass) in Royal Tunbridge Wells in 2012. They were known as Slaves until 2022, when they changed their name due to their original name's unwanted connotations. They have released five studio albums under both their names. They headlined Brixton Academy last year. ---------------- SOFT PLAY arrived on stage at 7.50pm for their 30 mins set. They are given a tiny space in front of Biffy's stage curtain. The duo played a pretty mental uptempo noisy set , The drummer was shirtless and tattooed and standing up. No hi-hat on his kit and they even have a track called ' Fuck the Hi-Hat'. They got the crowd moshing down the front. It was really good watching them. By the time Biffy Clyro come on the venue is totally full. Even the rear corner blocks of Level 4 are all sold. Stalls standing too, so must be over 18,000 here. BIFFY CLYRO arrived on stage at 8.50pm and played for 1 hour 45 mins. They have a visually fantastic stage show production. Staircases , lots of lights , big screens , pyros, streamers , moving curtains etc. They were joined by two female violinists on a few songs. Simon on vocals and guitar always ends up sweating his nuts off Loads of great crunching rock songs played, with their biggest anthems in the second half . A great show.
