Saturday 09 May 2026. LIGABUE live at Shepherds Bush Empire. 66 year old male singer-songwriter who is one of Italy's biggest rock stars. He has played the massive San Siro football stadium several times. I saw him headline The Royal Albert Hall in 2013, and at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2023. Just a few days before this London show... Italian rock star Ligabue gave the opening concert at Milan’s brand-new Unipol Dome. The Unipol Dome in Milan, Italy, developed, built and operated by CTS Eventim, officially launched live operations last night with an exclusive concert by Italian rock star Luciano Ligabue. The concert was attended by 16,000 fans. ------------ Like the last time he played here, the venue is totally rammed sold out. Mainly Italians of all ages , but a few English folks too. LIGABUE arrived on stage at 8pm and played for two hours. The crowd are very excited to see this big name back home in an intimate venue. They create a proper full on gig atmosphere of loudly singing along to all the songs. LIGABUE and a five piece band . Ligabue arrives on stage rockin' his David Ginola/Jon Bon Jovi silver fox good looks. He still attracts many female fans half his age, who are up and dancing & singing along from the start. It is a bit like French superstar Johnny Hallyday who plays stadiums back home, but smaller venues here. Only half a dozen words are in English as the chat is mainly in Italian and all the lyrics are in Italian. He has had over a dozen hit albums in the last 30 years or so. His band are really good with hints of Bon Jovi/Bryan Adams/ Bruce Springsteen as they are mainly uptempo catchy simple singalong rock tunes. You did not really need to know what he was singing about to make it a good rock show. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- Friday 08 May 2026...7pm to 10pm... TIGERMILK - press preview - off Brushfield Street , Spitalfields , London E1. So many nice restaurants in this area these days , so you gotta stand out a bit. This is a massive 280 cover restaurant , to cater for all the many workers in the area . As it is a preview , they want you to share dishes , and not order the same dish. We shared three starters. Pollock Tempura (Cabo San Tacos), Tuna Turner" (marinated tuna tostada). Truffle Quesadillas We shared two mains with three sides . T Bone-in Ribeye steak with agave-smoky chili marinade. Smoky Mole Rojo ( grilled shredded chicken with BBQ sauce) Desserts We had a Biscoff Cheesecake each and shared a Maracuyá ( Passion Fruit) Tiramisu. We were allowed one very nice cocktail each...I had a Pisco Sour. Our waitress Christina ( from Madrid) was nice and friendly . Parisian group Tigermilk is opening a new massive 280-seat flagship restaurant in Spitalfields in April 2026, marking their second London location and 13th in Europe. Capacity: 280 seats (230 inside, 50 terrace) - their largest site yet. Menu: Latin American focus—tacos, ceviches, truffle quesadillas, and grilled sharing dishes. Bar: A six-metre-high bar featuring over 250 tequilas and mezcals. Design: "Hacienda" theme, with a courtyard, orangery, and intense interior styling, designed by Studio Leche. After finding success on Tottenham Court Road, Nina and Alexis Melikov are opening a second London outpost of their Latin American restaurant Tigermilk, and it’s a whopper. The new 280-seater spot in Spitalfields is more like a hacienda than a restaurant. Inspired by the grand estates of Cuernavaca, Tigermilk Spitalfields will boast a number of interconnected spaces, including a courtyard, a dining room, an orangery and a six-metre-high bar stocked with over 2000 bottles. Like the OG, the menu at Tigermilk features cochinita pibil tacos, truffle quesadillas, ceviches, large sharing dishes like lamb al brasero and beef barbacoa, and indulgent desserts like maracuyá tiramisu and dulce de leche cheesecake. JIMMY CHOO - showcase - 27 New Bond Street , Mayfair , London W1. No surprise it is mainly nicely dressed females here at this luxury store. Half a dozen male models are serving the drinks from trays. TV and Radio personality MIQUITA OLIVER is hosting. Jimmy Choo flagship store offers a three-floor shopping experience. The store features the full range of products, including shoes, bags, and fragrances, with specialised services available. Complimentary Perrier Jouet champers , Cosmopolitan cocktails , canapes and desserts.
