Plenty of Sloane Ranger types here. At 7.45pm , we had the speeches and a member of each team unveiled team colours. Also the draw for the matches next month. We were told some interesting facts.. Around 300 horses will be used over the weekend. Matches are 3 a side. Polo can only be played right handed. Lots of nice complimentary drinks and food here , including Pommery champers , Margaritas, vodka n tonic , gin n tonic , wines, beers , bowl food, canapes and desserts . What they say about it... LA-YAM ROOFTOP BAR - showcase - 8th Floor, Kingsbourne House, 229-231 High Holborn London WC1. I was at the launch of this venue in June 2025. La-Yam is a hidden rooftop bar in London, created to offer an escape from the everyday. To capture the laid-back essence of a beach bar on the other side of the world, right in the heart of central London. With warm wooden textures and a coastal-inspired design, they bring a tranquil, getaway feel to a hidden rooftop in Holborn, sitting right above the station. A hidden doorway entrance opposite McDonalds and you take the lift up. Around 150 folks here , with many faces i know. A nice party atmosphere. They have large table umbrellas and blankets in case of bad weather. Complimentary drinks and food included , three different cocktails , wines , beers , ciders , bowl food, canapes and Baklava desserts . then 9pm to 11.30pm . 1536 - press night party - Louie , 13-15 West Street , London WC2. My first time at this French restaurant next to The Ivy. There are three levels, so maybe around 300 guests. BAZ LUHRMAN and MARGOT ROBBIE are here QUENTIN TARANTINO was at the show , but not the party. Maybe they were in town , on their way to The Cannes Film Festival. The 1536 production was held nearby at The Ambassadors Theatre . Set in Tudor England - hence the year 1536. Complimentary wines, beers, bowl food, canapes and desserts. Plenty of nice funky dance sounds playing over the pa. The third floor was still lively when we left. A dozen photographers outside the venue waiting , so maybe Margot Robbie still there.
