Thursday 04 June 2026...6.30pm to 10pm... MIMOSA - cocktail bar launch party - 64 Clapham High Street , London SW4. Mimosa is a massive, multi-space cocktail bar and restaurant on Clapham High Street Best of Clapham Instagram. Replacing the former Sixty Four Cocktail Bar and adjoining Brazilian restaurant, the venue features elevated sharing plates, resident DJs, and a lush rooftop garden . We are sat on a nice cosy sofa up in the mezzanine press/VIP area. There is a DJ spinning tunes, and a live sax player wandering around the crowd, and a female fire breathing act at 9pm . Good to see a few proper security guys here , with full on muscles. Nice complimentary drinks and food included three different cocktails, prosecco , wines, beers ,canapes and desserts . A very enjoyable evening, and travel went well , despite the tube strike, as the venue is near to Clapham High Street station on the Windrush Line , which was not part of the tube strike. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Thursday 04 June 2026. 50 years ago today i saw AC/DC at The Marquee . It was the fourth time I had seen them , even though they only arrived in London only six weeks earlier. ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Wednesday 03 June 2026. RILO KILEY live at Shepherds Bush Empire . Rilo Kiley are returning to the UK for their first performances in 19 years, playing two headlining shows in London as part of a highly-anticipated reunion. Rilo Kiley are an American indie rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1998, the band are fronted by Jenny Lewis on lead vocals , who has also released solo albums and acted in films. RILO KILEY have released a few albums. This is their second London show , as they play The Roundhouse the day before this show. Shepherds Bush Empire sold out in advance. Support comes from Matthew Caws , who is the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the alternative rock band Nada Surf. ---------- A nice range of ages here , with folks in their 20's up to folks in their 60's. MATTHEW CAWS arrived on stage at 8pm for his 30 mins set Just him and his acoustic guitar ticked along nicely. RILO KILEY arrived on stage at 9pm for their 1 hour 40 mins set. Five of them on stage, with Jenny Lewis singing most of the lead vocals. Very nice jangly guitars from the two guitarists. Rows of lights at the rear lower half of the stage, looked good. Jenny Lewis effortlessly balances sultry, soulful vocals with the vulnerable, stark songwriting that defined the band's catalog. Guitarist Blake Sennett generally looks completely thrilled to be back on stage, often taking lead vocal duties on tracks like "Dreamworld" and "Ripchord". A superb highlight was final song of the main set 'Portions for Foxes'. This live experience feels less like a traditional concert and more like a collective exhale for audiences who thought a reunion might never happen. Jenny Lewis said " great to be back in this room , where we played in 2007". Their loyal crowd loved this very enjoyable show. Full RILO KILEY setlist played tonight...
