Steve Dior is a British singer, guitarist and songwriter best known for being in bands such as The London Cowboys,Filthy Lucre , The Idols and other musical projects over the past 50 years. He played guitar in the band that backed Sid Vicious in New York in 1978. I saw The London Cowboys in 1982 and 1983. Steve has survived heroin addiction. --------- Maybe 50 or 60 folks here at this pub, and good to see many that I know. STEVE DIOR was joined by two other musicians on electric guitar and stand up double bass. Steve Dior is on vocals and acoustic guitar . They played or 90 mins over two sets of 40 mins and 50 mins. As expected it was a bit casual and loose . There was an hour gap between the two sets . A nice mix of tracks by Steve Dior Band , London Cowboys and covers from the likes of Johnny Thunders and David Johansen . Setlist included... A fun night. -------------------------------- -------------------------------- Friday 05 June 2026. THE STREETS live at Shepherds Bush Empire. The Streets (Mike Skinner) have released six albums. They had a few hit singles which reached the Top 40 on the UK Singles chart – including "Has It Come to This?", "Fit but You Know It", "Dry Your Eyes" (their only number-one single), "When You Wasn't Famous" and "Prangin' Out". After disbanding The Streets in 2011, Skinner pursued several other musical projects. I have seen The Streets a few times , with the first time supporting Muse at Wembley Stadium in 2007. This show sold out very quickly , as it's a smallish gig for them......As part of a UK and European Tour. The Streets will play two massive outdoor shows at ⁠Alexandra Palace Park on 16 July and 18 July 2026. That's 15,000 capacity each show. Mike Skinner and his band are performing their landmark 2004 album ' A Grand Don't Come For Free ' in full. The album has sold over a million copies . ------------ The venue is rammed solid by the time The Streets hit the stage . A rowdy loud crowd who are drinking the bars dry. Another mixed crowd , with folks ages ranging from 20's to 60's GOOD HEALTH GOOD WEALTH arrived on stage at 8pm for their 30 mins set. Two white guys on stage , with an electric guitar and backing tapes.. They were an ideal support act for The Streets . Playing tracks from their debut album ' For Once In Our Lives'. A distinctly British debut — drawing from The Streets, Gorillaz and Ian Dury to build something entirely unique. The duo are about ethics not politics, and want to spread positivity and unity. Their own headline tour includes a London show at Islington Assembly Hall on 27 Nov 2026. THE STREETS arrived on stage at 9pm for their 1 hour 40 mins set. Mike is joined by a four piece band and two backing singers (M and F). For the first half of the set. ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ is an unabashed classic, and it’s perfect for the ‘album in full’ celebration treatment. Front to back it follows a clear narrative, and about half of the songs make no sense out of context (there’s a reason he’d never played four of them live before this tour). This allows Mike Skinner to lean into his theatrical side. The bus stop from the album artwork sits in the middle of the stage and gives him something to work with as he wanders forlornly (‘Such A Twat’ and ‘Dry Your Eyes’) or gets into an argument with Simone (‘Get Out Of My House’), who’s “played” by one of the back-up vocalists. Along with the two singers, there’s also live bass, guitar, drums and keys. This works beautifully on high-tempo numbers like ‘Fit But You Know It’ . But overall the sound has clearly been carefully considered and it’s performed well, with Skinner’s vocals running the gamut from glee to anger to despair to hungover. But for those here for the party-starting piss-up, the second half of the set has you covered. There’s a choice selection from the equally landmark ‘Original Pirate Material’; ‘Has it Come To This?’ is garage perfection and ‘Don’t Mug Yourself’ is lively to make sure everyone is going appropriately bonkers. As you’d expect, there’s a smattering of newer songs that may not be cherished favourites, but they’re chosen mostly for their bass lines and shout-a-long choruses so there’s never a dull moment. Skinner is down in the pit for a good chunk of this half, chatting shit with the crowd and having a whale of a time. He upturns a monitor to balance precariously for ‘Wrong Answers Only’ and then crowd surfs front stalls standing for the closing ‘Take Me As I Am’. Mike Skinner is quite a unique artist in many ways.
