Wednesday 15 July 2026...5.30pm to 11pm ..... 67 PALL MALL - summer party - The Walks , Grays Inn, Chancery Lane London WC1. 67 Pall Mall, an exclusive private members' club founded in London in 2015 by wine enthusiasts, specifically tailored for wine lovers. Gray's Inn is one of London's four historic Inns of Court, serving as a professional hub and education center for barristers and judges in England and Wales. Located in Central London (near Holborn/Chancery Lane), it contains barristers' chambers, legal offices, event spaces, and "The Walks," one of the largest private gardens in the city, set in five acres . A massive event as must be 800/1000 guests here . A jazz trio on stilts are welcoming us . Thankfully they are showing the football on two big screens in the main marquee. I watch all of the second half. England scored first goal after 55 mins , but Argentina managed to score twice. England went too defensive after they scored, and it all backfired. England 1 Argentina 2. After the game , there was a popular silent disco. Lots of complimentary drinks and food , including Henriot champers, six different cocktails, a few dozen different wines on various stands, beers , full size cheeseburgers and hot dogs, BBQ, ,pizza, pasta , paella, sushi, caviar, oysters, canapes, churros and an ice cream cart . However, the magazine produced by British rock journalists and focused on the sights and sounds of the '70s and '80s rock era.has ceased publication and will not be producing any more issues beyond the current issue 56. --------------------------------- --------------------------------- Monday 13 July 2026. SYSTEM OF A DOWN + QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, North London. SOAD play the first of two massive sold out shows at this stadium. SOAD play their first UK shows in nine years. SOAD are celebrating 25 years since the 2001 release of their classic second album 'Toxicity' , that sold over six million copies in the USA, and went to number one in the Billboard Chart. I have seen both bands a few times before. The first time I saw QOTSA was supporting The Foo Fighters at The Rex, Stratford, East London in 2000, then the following year I saw both bands play at The Reading Festival. --------- Today there was news of Heritage Live ( see below for their statement) cancelling all three of their multi day events of big names due to higher production costs and lack of advance ticket sales , but some bands can certainly still shift more tickets than I would expect. My Chemical Romance headlined a very impressive THREE shows at Wembley Stadium last week, and SOAD can sell out two shows at Tottenham. ACID BATH arrived on stage at 6pm for their 30 mins set . All three bands have use of the big screens for live footage . They played a noisy 90s heavy rock set. Acid Bath is an American sludge metal band from Houma, Louisiana, that was active from 1991 to 1997. Regarded as one of the first and most influential sludge metal bands, they combined a doom metal foundation with elements of hardcore punk, death metal, gothic rock, blues, grunge, and Southern rock to create their sound.The band released two albums, When the Kite String Pops and Paegan Terrorism Tactics, in 1994 and 1996, respectively, but broke up following the death of bassist Audie Pitre in a January 1997 traffic collision. They announced a reunion in October 2024. QOTSA arrived on stage at 7pm for their 60 mins set. Pretty much all the crowd have arrived in time to see them. They have an odd backdrop of 100 ropes. They play a really good greatest hits set. QOTSA full setlist played... Tape intro track - Afternoon Delight (Starland Vocal Band song) Regular John The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret Do It Again Sick, Sick, Sick The Fun Machine Took a Shit and Died Paper Machete My God Is the Sun Run, Pig, Run (Not on the printed setlist, replaced I Appear Missing) Little Sister Go With the Flow No One Knows A Song for the Dead SOAD arrived on stage at 8.30pm for their 1 hour 45 mins set SOAD have a full light show , but don't bother with any stadium pyros. A full barrage of fast ,heavy sounds , with an Incredible 30 tracks played. Their crowd is very lively , to say the least, with non stop missing, crowd surfing and several circle pits around the pitch , in the gold circle and the general standing. A really good show. Highlights included... B.Y.O.B. Aerials Chop Suey Lonely Day Toxicity ---------------- This means Eric Clapton with Ronnie Wood as support in August is not happening. ANNOUNCEMENT We're devastated to report the heartbreaking news that we have no choice but to cancel this summer's Heritage Live festivals at the Englefield Estate, the Audley End Estate and the Sandringham Estate. We'd been working desperately hard behind the scenes to conclude an investment and equity package to ease the burden of an extraordinarily tough year, but this last beacon of hope has fallen through at the 11th hour, making it impossible to go ahead...a total of 13 shows are cancelled As one of the few remaining British independent promoters, it's become almost impossible to compete in what has become an increasingly saturated festival market. The might of huge multi-nationals has had the adverse effect of driving up supplier, artist and staffing costs and whilst it's still just about manageable during a normal year, the cost- of-living crisis combined with general financial uncertainty, has resulted in several shows having far lower than average ticket sales, making it impossible to survive in such a competitive industry, with so many rising costs. It would therefore be irresponsible and wrong of us to proceed without the certainty that we'd be able to meet all of our supplier, artist and crew costs. The whole Heritage Live team is absolutely devastated. It would have been the most amazing summer with such an extraordinary array of supreme talent and we're all so very sorry to let everyone down.
