Monday 14 September 2026....24 years ago this week I was at this outdoor show....
SEX PISTOLS + The Offspring + Social Distortion + Bad Religion + Buzzcocks + Blink 182 + New Found Glory + X + Damned Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavillion,Devore , California , USA 14.09.2002
What an amazing location to see The Sex Pistols . Sold out 65,000 venue set in the desert of the Californian mountains in 100 degrees midday Sun.It was great to see The Damned and The Buzzcocks here after they had missed out on the The Sex Pistols Crystal Palace show .Bands like Social Distortion and Offspring are huge in California. In fact punk rock is now huge over here .Sex Pistols did a 65 mins greatest hits set that was just amazing . Johnny was on great form as usual and those punk classics came fast and furious .
17 bands were playing , but it was so hot , that as we had a VIP parking pass, we could go back to our people carrier for some shade , so missed a few of the other bands on.

Monday 14 September 2026.
Sad news that CHEETAH CHROME of The Dead Boys has died aged 71.
I saw The Dead Boys twice in November 1977 at The Roundhouse , on the first visit to the UK , when they supported The Damned.
I bought both their albums on release in 1977 and 1978.

KARD live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
South Korean co-ed group KARD consists of four members, BM, J.seph, SOMIN, and JIWOO. Since their debut, KARD has gained international recognition for their unique concept, powerful performances, and diverse discography blending K-pop, EDM, tropical house, hip-hop, and Latin-inspired sounds.
As part of their world tour.
----------
Level 3 is closed tonight, but the other levels are.full.
Again, it is a 75% female crowd , who are very excitable, and screaming often.
KARD arrived on stage at 8pm for their 1 hour 50 mins set.
They consist of two males and two females .
There is no band , as it is all backing tapes, and there is a big screen showing their images.
Most of the tracks have a nifty dance routine.
There is a 10 minute video shown in the middle of their set , to give them a rest.
The humourous video was based around them learning English in the classroom.
Basic English was spoken on stage , but also an interpreter over the pa was used.
An interesting sound as they mixed K- Pop with Latin beats and hip hop rap lyrics .
Decent enough .

INNA live at Shepherds Bush Empire .
INNA is a 39 year old female Romanian singer - songwriter.
Her music style is EDM / dance pop.
Her number one singles in Romania included ' Hot' and 'Amazing'.
With global album sales of four million copies from her first three studio albums, Inna is the best-selling Romanian artist.
INNA is also popular in many other countries like Poland , in mainland Europe .
-----------
Amazingly the sign outside the venue says sold out .
Maybe 75 % are females aged 20 to 40 tonight .
DJ DEVINITY is the support and was on stage at 8pm for 45 mins.
The Helsinki based DJ played dance and pop classics to warm the crowd up.
INNA arrived on stage at 9.20pm for her 80 mins set .
On the raised platform behind were keyboards , percussion and the backing tapes operator.
INNA had four female dancers with her for several of the tracks.
The crowd were up and dancing and singing from the start to create a fantastic atmosphere .
It really was a full on party party vibe going on.
INNA sung in a few different languages , which was pretty amazing.
There were songs in English ,Romanian Turkish, Spanish and Arabic.
Most songs were catchy uptempo Euro Pop in sound.
INNA and her dancers certainly had hints of Shakira.
It was a very enjoyable show.
