Wednesday 16 September 2026....5.30pm to 8.30pm.... SOHO HOME - interiors by Soho House - showcase - Duke of York Square ,Chelsea, London SW10. This plush two storey store is just yards from The Saatchi Gallery. Did you know that The Duke of York Square used to be hidden from the public by a huge wall ? In 1999, the Ministry of Defence sold the 10.5-acre Duke of York's Headquarters site in Chelsea to the Cadogan Estate, marking the turning point for its redevelopment into a public square. The Cadogan Estate purchased the land to transform an inaccessible military area and car park into a mixed-use public destination. Prior History: The grounds originally opened in 1801–1803 as the Royal Military Asylum (a school for military orphans) before later serving as the Duke of York's Headquarters for the Territorial Army. Redevelopment opened up the walled-off parade ground—where legendary athletes like Roger Bannister and Chris Chataway once trained—to create Chelsea's first new public square in over a century.The site now houses high-end retail shops, dining spaces, and the iconic Saatchi Gallery. Around 150 guests over the two floors. Lots of designer beds and sofas and tables and chairs etc. We find a nice table in the corner. A jazz trio played two sets of 30 mins each. Complimentary drinks and food were Theinot champers, two different cocktails, beers , canapes and sushi. --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Tuesday 15 September 2026....I went to two events tonight... 5.30pm to 7.45pm . MAYFAIR & ST JAMES SUMMER GARDEN PARTY - Mount Street Gardens , Mayfair , London W1. Around 500 guests here , outdoors on this lovely sunny evening. Lots of seating as must be over 50 benches in this garden space. We have a male singer perform 30 mins of acoustic covers. We have a male quartet perform 30 mins of Rat Pack type covers. Lots of very nice complimentary drinks and food as several of the fancy hotels and restaurants in the Mayfair & St James's area are showcasing here, including Fortnums champers, gin martinis, wines, beers, coronation chicken burgers, fish burgers, kebabs , chicken curry , canapes, an ice cream stand and tiramisu stand. then 8.15pm to 10pm . BOXCAR - showcase - 30/31 Kendal Street ,London W 2. Boxcar Hyde Park at 30–31 Kendal Street is a neighbourhood café and bar located in Connaught Village, near Hyde Park in London.A cosy space with floor-to-ceiling windows, indoor seating, and outdoor seating. Around a 500-metre walk from Paddington Station and close to Marble Arch. Dog-friendly neighbourhood spot.Hours: Open daily from 08:00 to 18:00. It was a 6pm start , so we miss the food and live singer. Around 100 guests here Complimentary Negronis, Aperol Spritz, Limoncello , Prosecco, wines and beers .
