Saturday 19 September 2026.
Saturday 19 September 2026....I went to two events today....
2.30pm to 6pm.
THE VAMPYRES OF SOHO meet up at The Spice of Life, 6 Moor Street , London W1.
This was an invite only event for folks related to music, film ,TV, radio, etc .
It was my first time going to this quarterly get together.
Around 80 folks in the basement bar of this pub, and it's nice and buzzy.
There are a few folks here I know, and a few that are or were in various bands.
The Queen of Soho (Anne Pigalle) is in the corner with her Tarot Cards.
MARCO PIRRONI arrived on stage at 2.45pm for a 30 mins interview about his career .
Meeting Adam Ant and the early days etc.
Marco said he prefers writing songs and in the studio to playing live.
Marco has a dry sense of humour .
He signed copies of his autobiography after the chat.
SPIZZOLOGY arrived on stage at 3.40pm for his 30 mins set.
He was joined by an acoustic guitar player.
A really good set , ending with 'Where's Captain Kirk?' , along with covers of ' Come Up And See Me' and 'Moonage Daydream'.
DOLIUM arrived on stage at 4.30pm and played for 30 mins.
They are a scuzzy rock trio from Sheffield.
They were around 20 years ago, but spilt up , and have recently reformed.
Really good guitar noise from Reece.
Everyone got a free copy of their four track cd from 2008.
Overall a really nice afternoon event.
then..
JOHN McKAYS REACTOR play Siouxsie live at The 100 Club.
This was show number two of the four shows at The 100 Club for the 50th anniversary of The 100 Club Punk Rock Festival.
John was the Banshees guitarist from 1977 to 1979.
I have Siouxsie on stage many times over the past 40 plus years
Jen from The Priscilla's will be handling the vocals.
Support is TV Smith and the Bored Teenagers who will play The Adverts .
I saw The Adverts and TV Smith many times over the past 40.plus years.
Host is Marco Pirroni , who has his autobiography out this month, and who played guitar in the debut Siouxsie and the Banshees show at The 100 Club in Sept 1976, that also featured Sid Vicious on drums.
The legendary 100 Club, one of the world's iconic surviving independent music venues, hosts two special evenings celebrating the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking 100 Club Punk Festival, September 1976 .
The event that helped ignite the UK punk movement and changed music forever.
I was at both those shows in September 1976, where The Sex Pistols headlined.
There is a photo hanging on the wall of The 100 Club , with me in front of Steve Jones at the gig.
--------------
Another sold out show here, and seems a bit busier and hotter than the night before.
Again, good to see several punk rockin' chums here.
MARCO PIRRONI arrived on stage at 8pm for another 30 mins interview.
Obviously , some of the questions and answers I had heard earlier.
Marco was in deadpan mode , and was a bit sarcastic in his answers.
It was good to watch , but Marco didn't even bother shaking hands with the interviewer at the end.
TV SMITH and The Bored Teenagers arrived on stage at 8.50pm and played for 45 mins.
TV Smith is now aged 70 , but is full of energy and proper punk attitude , like Charlie Harper.
His band sounded great , and really good to hear all those Adverts classics , including...
No Time To Be 21
Richard Strange from Doctors of Madness joined them for a song
New Church
Bombsite Boy
Great British Mistake
Gary Gilmore's Eyes
Bored Teenagers
One Chord Wonders
JOHN McKAYS REACTOR arrived on stage at 9.50pm and played for 65 mins .
Great to see John McKay play those amazing guitar licks from those early Banshees gems.
Jen on vocals does a great job, and the drummer sounded fab.
Highlight was a me what version of ' Hong Kong Garden'.
A great set played.

Friday 18 September 2026.
X GENERATION X live at The 100 Club.
This is the first of four shows at this venue to celebrate 50 years since their Punk Rock Festival.
X Generation X play Generation X classics
Original Generation X drummer Mark Laff is in the line-up.
Plus support act Slinky Toys ( first UK show since 1977 by this French punk band).
Female singer Elli Medeiros is the only original member of the French punk band Stinky Toys playing tonight.
When Stinky Toys spilt up , she had some big success as a solo singer in France in the 1980s.
I saw Generation X 10 times in their heyday period, with the first time in 1977 at The Marquee Club .
I also saw Generation Sex at Crystal Palace supporting Iggy Pop a couple of years ago.
--------
The venue looks sold out.
Good to see several punk rockin' chums here.
STINKY TOYS arrived on stage at 8.25pm and played for 45 mins.
For some reason her vocals were kept low in the mix all night.
The crowd gavel them some respectful polite applause .
X GENERATION X arrived on stage at 9.35pm and played for 65 mins.
They whizzed through their 17 song setlist full of short sharp pop punk tunes.
Drummer Mark Laff must be aged around 70 now , but did a good job with the fast pace.
Their new singer Djamel Abina (often referred to by his nickname, "Dj") is a London-based singer, songwriter, and frontman known for his work with The Blue Carpet Band .He has the slicked back black hair and sideburns and has a John Travolta / Robert Gordon pure rock n roll look to him.
He was great , with full on energy and moving around the stage non stop.
Final song of the night was the classic track ' Dancing With Myself'.
Really great to hear those songs again...highlights included...
