Wednesday 23 September 2026.

Wednesday 21 September 2026. HAEVN live at Shepherds Bush Empire. HAEVN is a Dutch indie pop ambient band from Amsterdam founded in 2015 by singer-songwriter Marijn van der Meer and film soundtrack composer Jorrit Kleijnen. HAEVN is currently on their 'Terra Nova Tour' across Europe, featuring new songs, unreleased material, and tracks reimagined with a live string quartet. This show sold out in advance. -------------- Pretty amazing that they can sell this venue out. HAEVN arrived on stage at 8.20pm and played for a full two hours. Nine musicians on stage , including a string quartet. Always great to have a string section with a band . Two keyboards and strings were used on most tracks . A neat light show that completed the music. Though the vast majority of their discography is written and sung in English. While the Dutch indie-pop band primarily writes atmospheric, cinematic tracks in English, they have collaborated with Mozambican singer-songwriter Neco Novellas on several prominent tracks. In these songs, Novellas introduces vocals sung in his native African language, blending poetry and traditional chanting with the band's signature ambient sound. When he performed a few tracks tonight , it was the highlight of the show. They also had a female singer and sax player on a few tracks. The polite , respectful audience listened quietly during the songs, then big applause at the end . The first hour was very mellow , then it got a bit more livelier. The band got a full standing ovation at the end . An enjoyable show from this very interesting band. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- Wednesday 23 September 2026....another rocker sadly passes away... Gary “Angry” Anderson, the voice of Rose Tattoo and one of the defining figures in Australian rock, has died at the age of 79, with his family confirming that he passed away on the eve of Monday 21 September 2026 surrounded by loved ones in Australia. I saw Rose Tattoo just the once . Supporting Rainbow at Hammersmith Odeon in 1981. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ Tuesday 22 September 2026. SNOW PATROL live at The Royal Albert Hall. This was the second of their three sold out RAH shows. Northern Irish band Snow Patrol announce three shows at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their massive selling album ' Eyes Open' . The band said " The Royal Albert Hall is where we did our Reworked shows in 2009 and 2019 and has a very special place in our hearts". They will be playing the album in order in its entirety for the first time ever, and afterwards some more hits from across the years and maybe even a deep cut or two. 'Eyes Open' was the best-selling UK album of 2006, giving the band their first Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, and remains the 15th best-selling album of the 2000s. The record spawned the Grammy and Brit-nominated Chasing Cars' - the most played song of the 21st century on UK radio - alongside era-defining singles including ' You're All I Have' , ' Open Your Eyes' and ' Set The Fire To The Third Bar'. I have seen Snow Patrol a few times before. Martha Wainwright will join as support act for all three performances. I saw Martha Wainwright play a couple of short sets in 2005 and 2006. Martha is the sister of Rufus and the daughter of Loudon Wainwright . ----------- I saw comedian JOHN BISHOP going in to the venue, with his leg in plaster. John Bishop suffered a broken fibula and ankle after crashing his motorbike while out riding with astronaut Tim Peake on 30 August 2026. MARTHA WAINWRIGHT arrived on stage at 7.30pm for her 45 mins set. Martha Wainwright was just her and her acoustic guitar, and for one track she was joined by a sax player. Her connection with Snow Patrol goes back to a track she recorded with them in 2006, and would join them later for it , and Gary Lightbody later on would say her album was the one they were listening too the most in 2006 , when they were recoding their classic album. SNOW PATROL arrived on stage at 8.45 pm for their 1 hour 55 mins set. A nice stage production , with plenty of lights and disco glitter balls on the stage , and a nice big screen mixing live gig footage and pre-recorded clips. The band sound proper loud for their louder songs , but oddly there are no amps on stage. Frontman Gary Lightbody struggles with tinnitus. To protect his hearing and lower overall stage volume, the band originally moved their physical tube amplifiers (such as their Marshalls and Voxes) completely off-stage or under the stage into isolation setups. On their more recent tours, the band has streamlined their rig even further by replacing physical off-stage amps entirely with digital modeling technology. They heavily utilize Kemper profiling amplifiers and Fractal Axe-FX amp simulators. Due to the album track order their mega hit ' Chasing Cars' was the third song played . The many females here are loving their catchy softer songs . Their mega hit ' Run ' was one of the encores . A very enjoyable show. Full SNOW PATROL setlist played tonight... EYES OPEN album in track order... You're All I Have Hands Open Chasing Cars Shut Your Eyes It's Beginning to Get to Me You Could Be Happy Make This Go On Forever Set the Fire to the Third Bar (with Martha Wainwright) Headlights on Dark Roads Open Your Eyes The Finish Line Set 2 - no interval If There's a Rocket Tie Me to It Called Out in the Dark All Set Down Your Glass The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?) Love, I Guess Heal Me This Is the Sound of Your Voice Encore: Chocolate Run Just Say Yes -------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Monday 21 September 2026. JUDAS PRIEST live at Hammersmith Apollo. Classic rock legends are back in London , on the last date of their European Tour. I have seen them around 25 times since 1977, when they played this same venue when it was called The Hammersmith Odeon Also , when they supported KISS in Chicago in September 1979. I saw them last year at The 02 Arena at a co headline show with Alice Cooper. Singer Rob Halford celebrated his 75th birthday the previous month. Support band tonight are American metal band NEVERMORE. They headline Shepherds Bush Empire in May 2027. -------- Needless to say i was really looking forward to this classic rock gig. The venue is totally rammed sold out . Nice to have quick chats with Andy Copping (Live Nation) and Rod MacSween (Judas Priest booking agent). The merch queues must be the longest i have ever seen at this venue. NEVERMORE arrived on stage at 8pm for their 45 mins set. The five piece played a decent set of metal tracks. JUDAS PRIEST arrived on stage at 9.15pm for their 95 mins set. The stage production is totally a fantastic visual treat, as it feels like a full on arena production inside this legendary theatre . A massive screen mixes live footage with pre-recorded images , and there are five smaller screens, along with a ton of lights and lasers and a lovely big crunching rock wall of sound... ....pretty amazing. Very lively down the front as there was 25 or 30 crowd surfers. Rob Halford changes outfit a few times during the guitar solos, a couple of them were very naff . A trio of classics at the start seemed an odd setlist order. The motorbike and leathers come out for ' Hell Bent For Leather'. With his bald head , and long grey beard , Rob certainly looks like Uncle Albert from Only Fools and Horses . A superb show. Full JUDAS PRIEST setlist played tonight... Tape intro track - War Pigs ( Black Sabbath song) Tape intro track - Faithkeepers You've Got Another Thing Comin' Metal Gods Breaking the Law The Ripper The Sentinel Desert Plains Lightning Strike Turbo Lover Steeler Delivering the Goods Panic Attack Victim of Changes No Surrender (Guitar solo by Richie Faulkner before No Surrender starts) Painkiller Encore : Tape - The Hellion Electric Eye Hell Bent for Leather Living After Midnight Tape outro track - We Are the Champions (Queen song) Note: Davey Rimmer replaced Ian Hill on bass due to injury.
