Wednesday 07 October 2026...7.15pm to 11pm... JAGUAR x CAFE EIGHTY ONE - launch party - 91 Knightsbridge , London SW1. Tonight was the reveal of Jaguar's new electric Type 01 car , alongside their brand-new showroom opening in Knightsbridge, just down the road between The Berkeley Hotel and Harvey Nichols. As well as showing off the new car, the showroom is going to be doing something new for Jaguar, as it's the location for their own cafe called Cafe Eighty One. Located within Jaguar at Knightsbridge, Café Eighty One is a modern expression of British all day fine dining hospitality created exclusively with Michelin-starred chef Michael O'Hare.
Jaguar’s new flagship is more a cultural and hospitality destination than a car showroom. It spans two expansive floors and the space has been designed to complement the architecture of the recently announced Jaguar Type 01. Around 150 guests are here. At 8.15pm was the welcome speech and the unveiling of the very sleek new car. Then a DJ played tunes in the background. Lots of staff fussing over the guests , bringing drinks and food to our table . Complimentary Gusbourne English Sparkling Wines, three different cocktails , wines, beers and some very tasty food including lobster tail pieces , caviar and desserts. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Tuesday 06 October 2026. GAVIN DEGRAW live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Grammy Award-nominated multi-Platinum singer and songwriter from USA hits the stage with his signature fusion of pop, soul, country, folk and funk. He has released several albums , with big success back home in the USA, with a few million albums sales. I have seen him live a couple of times before. Casey McQuillen is the official supporting act opening for Gavin DeGraw on the UK leg of his 2026 EU/UK Tour. -------------- Level 3 is closed, and Level 2 is half empty tonight. CASEY McQUILLEN arrived on stage at 8pm for her 30 mins set. Just Casey with a guitarist and backing tapes. Casey is an American female singer who was on American Idol. Casey has a powerful wife ranging voice. Oddly she gave her mobile number out on a big board for folks to contact her. GAVIN DEGRAW arrived on stage at 9pm for his 1 hour 55 mins set. Gavin was backed by a four piece band who sounded great. Gavin brings a soulful, piano-driven live show blending heartfelt ballads with high-energy rock grooves. The middle section has the piano led tracks , where he dedicated songs to audience members. Highlights included livelier tracks ' Not Over You' , a couple of nice covers ' With a Little Help From My Friends / Comfortably Numb' and a great final gem ' I Don't Want To Be '. Gavin has a cool rock n roll swagger ...An enjoyable show. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Tuesday 06 October 2026. Sad news that top notch American soul singer FREDDIE JACKSON has died aged 70. Grammy-nominated R&B singer Freddie Jackson, famous for smooth late 1980s hits like "You Are My Lady" and "Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)," has died at the age of 70. I saw him headline Hammersmith Odeon eight times over three tours. One of the nights we went to a nice after-party in Wandsworth.
