Aftershow News: 18th August 2003

V Festival Chelmsford 16 /17 August 2003. Well Virgin certainly look after their guests. On the Saturday i was in the Virgin Mobile tent along with about 500 guests with free booze and food all day until 1am which was great fun. Nipping in there inbetween the bands . Even better the next day i was in the Virgin Radio tent where there is about 200 getting stuck into the free booze and food.They also had a 4ft tower of warm chocolate cascading downwards and you stuck your strawberries and marshmallows in and got them coated in the chocolate. Bottles of suntan lotion everywhere was a nice touch. A few of the bands did 3 song sessions for radio so i saw David Gray and Tim Burgess play and Evan Dando walk out complaining about the sound. Not many celebs here apart from those playing Rolan Bolan (Marc Bolans son),Kathy Lloyd(page 3 girl from 1980s now trying to look like Pete Burns in the facial surgery dept) DJs Mark Lamarr and Zoe Ball were there. Liam G from Oasis and Ms Paltrow was there hanging by Coldplays trailor. Excellent weekend with some quality bands.
