Friday 19 February 2021. AC/DC singer BON SCOTT sadly died on this day 41 years ago - 19 Feb 1980. Bon had been out drinking with friends in London – but the casual evening took a terrible turn as Scott passed out in his car, and ultimately choked to death on his own vomit. He was only 33 years old. I was lucky to have seen Bon 19 times with AC/DC including many of their earliest shows in the UK. I always remember seeing where i read about AC/DC the first time. It was in Sounds music paper who had an article on new bands to look out for in 1976. It mentioned AC/DC who had a guitarist who dressed up in full schoolboy uniform and the singer would carry him on his shoulders through the crowd...that was enough to get me along. Their live reputation soon got around and it only took seven months from arriving in the UK , and playing pubs and The Marquee to headlining Hammersmith Odeon. I think it will be free to view after Saturday as well, as it is not a paid ticket event. ---------- SKY ARTS 9pm - THE CURE live at Hyde Park , London in July 2018 to celebrate their 40th anniversary. I did not go to this show, as i saw their warm up show at The Royal Festival Hall. ----------------- Sunday 21 February 2021. Amazingly this live music fan has a gig clash , that is all of 15 months away. You would think that booking agents and promoters would try and avoid this type of thing. Birmingham has two large arenas, one in the city centre and one on the outskirts of town. She sent a tweet to the A-ha Twitter account.... Why reschedule the A-ha date at Birmingham Utilita Arena to 28th May 2022, so that it now clashes with Pet Shop Boys at Birmingham Resorts World Arena on the same date? I already have tickets to both events. Do I now have to choose a “favourite” and get a refund on the other? Pouting face
