Following a government announcement by Boris on Monday suggesting large-scale UK events will be able to open in June, two Live Nation festivals – Reading & Leeds and Creamfields – have jointly sold 170,000 tickets within 72 hours....Reading & Leeds & Creamfields are all held in the last weekend of August. --------- SKY ARTS 9pm - Brian Johnson meets Mick Fleetwood. SKY ARTS 11pm - Marvin Gaye documentary. I saw Marvin Gaye at Hammersmith Odeon in 1981...his dad shot him dead in 1984. SKY ARTS 12.15pm - James Brown live at Montreux 1981. I have seen James Brown live around a dozen times, with the first time being Hammersmith Odeon in 1977. --------------------- Saturday 27 February 2021. Happy Birthday to STEVE HARLEY who is 70 today. I have seen him on stage a dozen times , with the first times in 1975 and 1976 when Cockney Rebel headlined Hammersmith Odeon. ------------ SKY ARTS 9pm - Dire Straits live at Hammersmith Odeon 1983....I was at both their shows on that tour... In the foyer at those shows Phillips were showcasing their new product...it was called a CD player. SKY ARTS 11pm - The Jam live in Germany 1980. Film 4 11.45pm - Carrie (1976) - one of my fave ever films. --------------------- Monday 01 March 2021 The Download Festival today announced that this years June event will not happen. The date being early June that includes UK covid regulations and lots of American acts. Headliners for Download June 2022 have been confirmed as KISS , Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro. ---------- Happy Birthday to ROGER DALTREY who is 77 today. I have seen The Who around 30 times , including three times with Keith Moon in the 1970s.
