Wednesday 25 August 2021.

Wednesday 25 August 2021. 4pm to 6pm I had a wander around the Spitalfields area for a couple of hours. It has become a very cool area the past few years. In Rough Trade Records there i saw they were selling Steve Jones "Lonely" biography in paperback for only £3, so well worth getting if you have not got a copy yet. then 6pm to 7pm... SATOSHI BLOCK DOJO - launch party - Fora, 34-41 Folgate Street, Spitalfields, London E1. A nice new large event space , with a garden area out the back. This event was for those wanting to get involved in the phenomenal rise of Bitcoin. Japanese theme so dressed up Geisha girls giving out complimentary Asahi beers, sake and lots of nice different sushi. I could only spend an hour here as a press guest list came in after for the theatre event below, so could not stay for the speeches etc. www.blockdojo.io - Visit their website here. ------------ then a mad tube dash to... On 18 Aug CINDERELLA opened at The Gillian Lynne Theatre,166 Drury Lane, London WC2. Oddly that was the press night with Joan Collins attending but tonight was THE WORLD PREMIERE...with a few celebs here including Gemma Collins, Nicola Adams with her partner dressed as Cinderella, Katie Piper, Vanessa Feltz and Richard Arnold from ITV. Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical opens to lots of five and four star rave reviews. The highly-anticipated new musical Cinderella officially opened at the Gillian Lynne Theatre and has won the critics over! Hailed by London Theatre as "a masterclass in musical comedy" and "a triumph" by the Sunday Times, Cinderella is a hilarious modern adaptation of the classic fairytale that you won't want to miss. It is a visually big production with lots of scenery changes, costumes and good songs. The venue is one of those that has superb views from wherever you are sitting. The show was on for two hours 25 mins over two sets of 80 mins and 65 mins. A superb stunt at the start of the second set where the front eight rows of the stalls rotated 180 with the stage, which ended up with the stage being in the middle of the venue for 30 minutes. A very enjoyable show. ---------- Happy Birthday to GENE SIMMONS who is 72 today. I have seen KISS live over 40 times since 1976. Check my Facebook page for a couple of photos of him from The Classic Rock Awards.
