Wednesday 01 September 2021. Some Guys Have All The Luck - The Rod Stewart Story - The Beck Theatre , Hayes, Middlesex. I have seen this top notch ROD STEWART tribute show a couple of times before. I have seen the real Rod Stewart over 20 times since the 1970s where I saw him play six great shows at Olympia in 1976 x 2, 1977 x 1, 1978 x 3. ------------------ Around 400 tickets sold at this cosy 600 capacity all seated theatre. Lots of folks here my age, and nice to see some folks who are clearly in their 70s. The show lasted 2 hours 15 mins over two sets of 70 mins and 65 mins. The first set was Rod classics up to 1976 including a few Faces tracks , and the second set was 1976 onwards....there were Rod images on the big screen. The singer has that great raspy voice that the real Rod has and friendly stage banter. A few costume changes by him too, mainly just a different jacket. He is one of the three members of the six on stage who are in their sixties. The band includes keyboards and sax. Lots of dancing by the punters in the second half, and you cannot go wrong with so many Rod gems. This was only their second show back since March 2020, when covid messed their touring up. www.someguyshavealltheluck.com - Visit their website here for more info on their tour dates.
