ED SHEERAN live at Shepherds Bush Empire.
Stadium filling megastar plays a one off special intimate show for ballot winners,
who when chosen can then pay £40 for each ticket.
Ed will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his album "+" which has sold over
13 million copies worldwide, by playing the album in its entirety.
This show looks like being the hottest gig ticket of this year.
His huge tour from a couple of years ago topped U2 to become the highest grossing tour ever.
The ÷ Tour (pronounced "Divide Tour") was the third world concert tour by English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran, in support of his third studio album, ÷ (pronounced "divide"). Comprising 260 shows, it officially began on 16 March 2017, in Turin, Italy and ended on 26 August 2019, in Ipswich, England. Ticket sales started on 2 February 2017.The tour set world records for the highest-grossing concert tour and the most tickets sold by a tour....over 8 million fans bought tickets and it grossed over £500 million.
The night before this show ,Ed was at the prestigious GQ Men Of The Year Awards to accept
The Solo Artist of The Year.
I have seen Ed a couple of times live before, including The Royal Albert Hall in 2014.
Needless to say, that the venue was proper rammed sold out tonight.
First set - ED SHEERAN arrived on stage at 7.55pm for a 20 minute set with Amy Wadge,
who wrote an EP with him around 2008, and they sung songs from that.
There was a big screen which mixed live footage with pre-recorded images.
Second set - ED SHEERAN arrived on stage at 8.35pm and performed for 1 hour 40 mins.
Just Ed on guitar and vocals, along with his board of foot pedals.
He performed one song playing the piano.
There were many film cameras about, so a DVD could be out for Christmas.
Ed said when he was first starting out , it was always his main ambition to play this
venue and he did that 10 years ago...so he is back to give thanks.
His non rock star behaving image seems to work a treat as his huge success has made him very rich.
The crowd singalong to his easy on the ear tunes, and Ed knows how to work the crowd.
I am not his biggest fan but nice to hear big hits like "The A Team" and "Lego House".
He played several tracks from the album for the first time in many years.
An enjoyable show.
