Friday 10 September 2021. THE SISTERS OF MERCY play The Roundhouse. TSOM play the first of three shows at this venue. Goth Rock band from their 1980s heyday as still going strong, due to their very loyal fans. Andrew Eldritch is still there on vocals....there will be a different support act each night... I saw The Sisters Of Mercy twice in 1998 at The Forum and at The Roundhouse in 2019. ------------------ As it is a goth crowd, most of the crowd are dressed in black. JESUS JONES arrived on stage at 8pm for their 45 mins set. They are given a tiny space in front of the headliners huge black curtain, that covered the stage. They had a couple of Top 10 hit singles in the early 1990s but are probably better known for their Top 40 hit "Right Here, Right Now". A good set of indie dance rock including that great track "Right Here, Right Now". THE SISTERS OF MERCY arrived on stage at 9.15pm and played for 90 mins. They have several giant mirrors above the stage which filled out the stage well, and reflected the lights around the room nicely...lots of dry ice used as well. This was the same stage production I saw at this venue when they played here in 2019 The Sisters have an industrial, dark sound.However, the band are tight and look good, Andrew Eldritch still seriously scary and enigmatic as ever on vocals with an emotionless stare from behind his trade mark shades. The main set ticked along nicely , but felt a bit samey. The encore was a highlight as it included their hits "Temple of Love" and "This Corrosion". A good show. Full Sisters Of Mercy setlist played tonight....
