Tuesday 19 October 2021. DAVE CHAPPELLE - live at Hammersmith Apollo. Popular American comedian plays several sold out Hammersmith Apollo shows in October. His Netflix specials have had millions of views. These shows are a strictly no mobile phones to be used in the venue. If you are seen with a mobile phone during the show, you will be immediately ejected. ---------- Signs all over the theatre with a list of restrictions , including " no texting ". VIOLATERS WILL BE EJECTED All skin colours are here to see black comedian DAVE CHAPPELLE. An American DJ was playing tunes before and during the intervals. KOJO ANIM arrived on stage for his decent 15 mins set. JEFF ROSS arrived on stage at 8.10pm and performed two sets of 20 and 10 mins. He is well known back in America. His second set was a hilarious "roasting " of the eight audience members on stage. A couple of the reviews I saw were a bit scathing as they said DAVE CHAPPELLE played a short set and was charging silly ticket prices....and they were spot on. 9.10pm to 10.02pm - 52 minutes of comedy from DAVE CHAPPELLE 10.02pm to 10.10pm - 8 mins medley of songs with surprise guest ED SHEERAN (singing his big hit "Shape Of You" ) and a harmonica player. 60 mins total Bearing in mind that the front six rows of the stalls and circle were £125 each. Most well known UK comedians charge around £35 for tickets. That works out at over £2 a minute for when Dave is on stage. Dave CHAPPELLE has a cigarette in his hand for most of the show. There is lots of swearing including the N word and his routine includes the mocking of black and white people and everything else.....it's only jokes folks. He even has a pop at Shepherds Bush. He introduces us to his two burly security guards, one of whom has a great voice. Dave CHAPPELLE was very funny, but it did feel like a very short time he spent on stage. ------------------------------------ Monday 18 October 2021...6.45pm to 10.30pm...
