Friday 22 October 2021. ROGER TAYLOR (Queen drummer) live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Marking his first live performances outside Queen in over two decades, Taylor will tour the UK across October 2021, playing 14 intimate shows that will coincide with the release of his latest solo album "Outsider". The show will mix solo tracks with a few Queen classics and a couple of cover versions. Will Brian May turn up at Shepherds Bush?, which is the final date on the tour. On 08 Oct Roger Taylor new album "Outsider " went straight in at number three in UK charts. The Telegragh paper gave the Guildford show a glowing five star review. I was lucky to have seen Queen a dozen times, including Live Aid in 1985. I have also seen them live with post Freddie singers Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambart. I also saw Roger Taylor and The Cross live in 1994. Roger Taylor is now aged 72. ------------------ Tonight is a near sell out, and loyal Queen fans from different countries are here in force. Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden is here. Also here is Rogers son Rufus, who plays drums with The Darkness. When he took his seat in Level 1 during the interval , the crowd shouted "Rufus, Rufus, Rufus". ROGER TAYLOR & band arrived on stage at 9pm and played for 1 hour 50 mins. Queen keyboard player Spike Edney is also playing keyboards here tonight. Roger sings most of the vocals, and we have a drummer who is joined by Roger on a second kit for a few tracks, including a drum battle. The loyal fans know all the words to Roger Taylor's solo material. Really great to hear those classic Queen songs again. THE SPIRIT OF THE NBA x HENNESSY - Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1. Drinks brand Hennessy Cognac are hosting a party for around 300 guests tonight, to launch the new NBA 2021/2022 season which starts this week. Nice to see such such a great 50/50 mix of black and white guests. Musicians GOLDIE and RAY BLK were here. Regular London party goers, Daisy Lowe and Alistair Guy were also here. Hennessy have signed a global partnership with NBA as they tip off the NBA 75th anniversary. The space was turned into a basketball court, with all the markings etc. This space could easily be used for bands as there is a proper stage where we have the djs playing hip-hop tunes and a couple of rappers performed short sets. There are half a dozen basketball players who are performing their freestyle tricks. There are half a dozen basketball hoops for guests to try their best shots. An army of waiters and waitresses with trays are handing out the non-stop complimentary food and drinks. We had five different Hennessy cognac cocktails to choose from including Sour, Martini and Old Fashioned. Food started with cold canapés then to different hot bowl foods including Lobster with creamy cheese potato, then yummy full size bacon & cheese burgers from MOTHER FLIPPER. Desserts were iced doughnuts. All guests got a nice goodie bag on departure. A great party.
