Thursday 04 November 2021...I went to three events today... PAUL McCARTNEY : THE LYRICS - press view - The British Library, Euston Road, London NW1. I spent 45 minutes here. A display of lyrics behind some of the most famous songs of all time. Showcasing previously unseen material from Paul McCartney’s personal archive, their FREE Entrance Hall display celebrates the life and art of one of the world’s most successful songwriters and performers. The lyrics and photographs span his career – from his earliest compositions through the legendary decade of The Beatles, to Wings and his solo albums to the present. The display includes highlights from the 154 songs included in Paul McCartney - The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present published by Allen Lane this autumn, which recounts his life and art through the prism of songs from all stages of his career. It is a fairly small display, which would explain why it is FREE ADMISSION from Friday 05 Nov 2021. It features 35 exhibits, and a copy of the book is there to browse through. then 4pm to 6pm.
