Monday 15 November 2021.

Sunday 14 November 2021. ROB LAMBERTI - a celebration of George Michael - live at Shepherds Bush Empire. A top notch GM tribute since appearing in "Stars In Their Eyes" tv show in 1994. Rob headlined a big show at Hammersmith Apollo a few years ago. I saw Wham live five times including Live Aid in 1985. I saw George Michael solo several times. George was one of the many music legends that did not reach the age of 60. ------------ Is is stalls seating tonight and Levels 2 and 3 are closed as unsold , but there are still around 500 tickets sold at 40 each....pretty expensive for a tribute act. It is pretty much a 75% middle aged female crowd here tonight. Rob has a full live band, including keyboards, percussion, brass, two backing singers. A nice long show of 2 hours 10 mins over two sets of 60 mins and 70 mins. Rob looks, sings and has the mannerisms of George Michael down to T. All the best tracks from Wham and George Michael were performed. The crowd danced for the uptempo songs and sat down for the slower ones. Encores were... Careless Whisper Freedom 90 Last Christmas A very enjoyable show. -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- Saturday 13 November 2021. ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK live at Hammersmith Apollo. OMD are on a massive month long UK tour. I have seen OMD over 15 times since 1979 when they supported JOY DIVISION at The Nashville. They were regulars at Hammersmith Odeon in the 1980s when i worked front of stage security. Special guests are SCRITTI POLITTI who i saw play a great show at Shepherds Bush Empire on 02 Oct 2021. ------------ The show is not sold out, but it is very full. I sadly missed SCRITTI POLITTI and their 45 mins set but thankfully i had seen their full headline show at Shepherds Bush Empire six weeks ago. OMD were on stage at 8.50pm and played for 95 mins. A top notch stage production with loads of lights and three big screens showing pre-recorded images. Singer Andy is still showing off his original "dad dancing" moves as usual. Loads of their catchy synth-pop hit singles played tonight, which got the crowd dancing. Andy said near the end " see you next time we play here, which will be our 22nd time here". A great show. Full OMD setlist played tonight...
