Wednesday 15 December 2021. AMY WADGE + ISAAC STUART live at Shepherds Bush Empire. Amy Wadge is an English singer and songwriter. She has co-written tracks with Ed Sheeran, including "Thinking Out Loud" for which she won the 2016 Grammy Award for Song of the Year. Amy has released several albums , and written many songs with well known musicians. Support comes from 22 year old singer-songwriter ISAAC STUART from Banbury , Oxfordshire. ------------------ Not many here tonight, maybe 600 at the most. ISAAC STUART arrived on stage at 8pm for his 30 mins set. Just Isaac and his keyboard for half a dozen tracks. AMY WADGE arrived on stage at 8.50pm for her 85 mins set. A very sparse stage for Amy and her band. Amy is aged 45 now, which would explain the older than expected crowd. Amy is over the moon to be finally headlining this venue, and gets one of her teenage kids to introduce her on stage, and dedicate the show to her parents who are also in the audience. Amy plays tracks with her band , and solo tracks with her keyboards. Lots of entertaining stage banter including where she told us she now mixes life between England, Los Angeles and Nashville, such is her reputation as a songwriter. A good show. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Tuesday 14 December 2021. It was 48 years ago today. MOTT THE HOOPLE + QUEEN live at Hammersmith Odeon, London 14.12.1973 a fantastic double bill . This was the first ever concert I saw at the famous Hammersmith Odeon .Freddie and Queen were great and I think this was their only proper tour as support band and it was before their first ever hit single . Mott The Hoople also did a really great set ." All The Young Dudes " and others. I saw Queen a dozen times with Freddie Mercury, including the iconic Live Aid in July 1985. I have also seen Queen with later line-up singers Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. I have seen Mott The Hoople many times including their reunion shows. I have seen Ian Hunter as a solo artist many times. I am still attending shows at that venue, which is now called Hammersmith Apollo. I have been to over 2000 shows at this venue.
