Tuesday 08 February 2022. DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE at The Dominion Theatre, London. VIP / press night... Dirty Dancing is back! Exploding with heart-pounding music, breathtaking emotion and sensationally sexy dancing. Featuring 35 hit songs, including Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me? and the iconic (I've Had) The Time of My Life. Seen by millions across the globe this worldwide smash hit tells the classic story of Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds, who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives. The show is on for around 2 hours 10 mins, which includes a short interval. It is on from 02 Feb 2022 to 16 April 2022. www.nederlander.co.uk - Visit the Nederlander website here to book tickets for Dirty Dancing at The Dominion and their other theatre productions. ------------------ This huge theatre is packed to the rafters tonight. Dirty Dancing is back for a third West End run, using the original 1987 script. The original film of course starred Patrick Swayze. Johnny is played by Michael O ' Reilly who is quite the perfect male specimen. He looks just like Christopher Reeve in Superman and each time he takes his shirt off and even shows his naked bum on one occasion , the many females in the audience swoon audibly. The males in the audience can feast their eyes on blonde stunner Carlie Milner who plays Penny. Her top level gyrating dance moves leave the Strictly Come Dancing tv professionals in the dust. The many dance routines throughout the show are all pretty dazzling. Kira Malou as Baby falls in love with dance instructor Johnny while on holiday , while attending a holiday resort with her conservative parents. The venue erupts near the end as we get the iconic line "nobody puts baby in a corner" , and that iconic "air dance lift". A very enjoyable show, with a perfect mix of great dancing, great songs, comedy and romance. ------------------ 10pm to 12pm...afterparty in The Dominion circle bar.... Around 200 guests here ,and all the cast turn up. Lots of young glammed up woman having their photo taken but didn't recognise them. Only celeb i saw was Anthea Turner. Complimentary Lanson champers, prosecco, wines, Peroni beers, canapés and tubs of ice cream.
