Tuesday 29 March 2022.

Tuesday 29 March 2022. POLO & PAN live at The Forum. Polo & Pan are a French music duo consisting of Paul Armand-Delille (aka Polocorp or Polo) and Alexandre Grynszpan (aka Peter Pan or Pan). Their music style incorporates a mixture of electronic music influenced by tropical sounds and music from all over the world. The duo has released two studio albums and a number of successful EPs. The 2021 single "Ani Kuni" is their biggest hit. ----------------- I end up missing the support act Kids Return. Never heard of POLO & PAN? , well their fans do, as the venue is totally sold out. Looks like a mix of French, English and others from mainland Europe. POLO & PAN arrived on stage at 9.15pm and played for 90 mins. The two of them take to the stage behind their dj decks. A great stage production as there is a huge screen showing nice pre-recorded digital images, along with loads of lights including strobes. Their songs are funky but suave, uniquely fun, and evoke a fantasy of European night life. Very laid back electro-pop rather than uptempo. The crowd not their heads and dance gently from side to side. A bit of an odd show, but enjoyable enough. ----------------------------------------- Shock news that SPIKE is no longer singing with THE QUIREBOYS. In bizarre circumstances other members of the band have sacked him. Bearing in mind Spike is the only original member of the band . WTF? His great raspy blues-rock voice is gonna be impossible to replace. The band said they will continue, with no original members. The Quireboys not featuring Spike is not The Quireboys. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Monday 28 March 2022. A NIGHT FOR UKRAINE is held at Hammersmith Apollo. Nine comedians , including many big names perform a benefit for The Red Cross,Ukraine. The show is on for 2 hours 5 mins over two sets of 65 mins and 60 mins. It is a full house tonight, to watch these comedians perform for 10 to 15 mins each. Each of them had plenty of funny material. A couple of them made jokes related to the Will Smith OSCARS incident. A couple of them made jokes about not showcasing their best material tonight as its a charity gig, and it you want to hear the best stuff, then buy a ticket for their tour. An enjoyable evening.
