Thursday 07 April 2022.

Thursday 07 April 2022...11.45am to 3.30pm... THE LORD MAYOR'S PLATINUM JUBILEE BIG CURRY at The Guildhall, London EC2. This huge historic building dates back to 1440. A massive event as there must be 700 or 800 older folks here, with most paying £100 to be here. The event raises monies to support all members of her majesty's armed forces. There are many different military here, all dressed up in full uniform. PRINCESS EUGENIE and PRINCESS BEATRICE were at the VIP drinks reception. The sit down curry buffet included Tandoori Chicken with Tikka Masala Gravy, Prawn Mango Masala, along with various sides...dessert was Mango Kulfi... Complimentary wines, Cobra beers and coffees n chocolates for all the time spent here. There was a silent auction ,which featured 50 nice items...and a prize draw. All guests got a goodie bag with a few items inside. A really nice event. ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- News from THE LONDON BOOK FAIR. Blondie co-founder CHRIS STEIN has sold his first memoir, Under A Rock, to Corsair, exploring the history of the band and the bond between Stein and leader singer Debbie Harry. ------------------------------------------- JOHN LYDON is still not happy about the upcoming documentary... Pistol Trailer We were originally led to believe “Pistol" was a Steve Jones story, not a Sex Pistols story. Going by the trailer it doesn't seem to be the case. John’s “likeness” is clearly being used to sell this series, a series he was not involved in, and was put together behind his back. Putting words in John's mouth and rewriting history. A middle class fantasy. Disney have stolen the past and created a fairytale, which bears little resemblance to the truth. It would be funny if it wasn't tragic. ------------------------------------------ Wednesday 06 April 2022. JAKE BUGG live at The Forum. Jake is playing a UK tour to support his 5th album release "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning". Jake has gone off the radar a bit after the number one chart success of his debut album in 2012. Back then he was touted as the next Noel Gallagher. This show has been downsized from the much bigger Brixton Academy. This the last night of his UK tour to promote the new album. ------------- It is not sold out tonight, but it looks pretty full. LUKE ROYALTY & band arrived on stage at 7.20pm for their good 25 mins set. VISTAS arrived on stage at 8pm for their really good 30 mins set. Scottish indie-rockers played some great catchy tunes from their two Top 40 UK albums. They had a very nifty guitarist, and i must see them again. Vistas sound along the lines of Arctic Monkeys/ The Strokes/ Franz Ferdinand. JAKE BUGG & band arrived on stage at 9pm for their 95 mins set. He plays in front of a very impressive huge wall of lights. Lots of moshing around in front stalls standing, and a few pints are being thrown up in the air. Jake Bugg has that very intriguing unique voice as he played several tracks from the new album. Plenty of uptempo indie-rock goodies and a couple of slower acoustic tracks. Highlights included his two Top 40 hits "Two Fingers" and "Lightning Bolt" along with superb final song "All I Need" where he was joined by Joy who provided some powerful vocals. He whizzed through loads of songs in a really good set. Full JAKE BUGG setlist played tonight....
