Thursday 09 June 2022...I went to two events tonight... 7.15pm to 8.45pm. THEO FENNELL - new store launch party , 2 Garrison Square, Chelsea Barracks, London SW1. Due to rising rents, THEO FENNELL has left his iconic store in The Fulham Road and moved to this huge new development of luxury flats. If you were to drift through the Theo Fennell storefront all the way to the upstairs studio, you may find yourself ogling at silverware by the bushel and ornaments fit for the parlours of Gallic royalty. You may also catch a glimpse of a pair of brooches emblazoned with the faces of Henry VIII and Elvis Presley, the two kings of varying qualities; custom-made plectrums for the guitarist SLASH. THEO FENNELL is now in his 70th year and celebrating 40 years in business. Around 150 guests here as they have been given use of the show flat and rear garden for the party. A very nice upmarket older crowd here including several well known faces including... ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER LULU DAVID FURNISH (Elton Johns husband) JACKIE ST CLAIR BARRY HUMPHRIES now aged 88 (Dame Edna Evarage and Sir Les Patterson) MIKE RUTHERFORD ( Genesis / Mike & The Mechanics) NICKY HASLAM MARK AUSTIN (Sky news presenter) Photos of me with Barry Humphries and Mike Rutherford will be on my Facebook page soon. Complimentary prosecco, Theo Fennell wines and canapés for all guests. then 9pm to 10.30pm DOLCE & GABBANA LFW PARTY , 6-8 Old Bond Street, Mayfair, London W1. Their Old Bond Street store is the London flagship and encompasses six magnificent floors, displaying menswear, womenswear, accessories, fine jewellery and watches. Three of the floors are private spaces dedicated to the brand’s Alta Gioielleria, Alta Moda and Alta Sartoria couture collections. Appointments can be made to visit the collections and arrange fittings. The space has an elegant black and white theme, a reflection of the classic and refined style of the West End. The aim is to give customers a taste of the dolce vita no matter where in the world you’re from. The fashion house was founded in 1985 in Milan. FOUR of the well known designer stores in the West End are having London Fashion Week parties tonight. Over 200 guests here and a much younger crowd here tonight, compared to the previous event. We are feeling a bit old here as we are wearing suits, but we bump into a couple of older media friends. It was very lively here, as the DJ was pumping out loud dance tunes. Lots of glammed up females and many are wearing D & G. Much talk in the UK on the cost of living crisis these days but the designer stores still seem to have enough customers to pay £700 plus for a pair of trainers. Complimentary prosecco and two different cocktails for all guests.
