Sunday 04 September 2022.

Saturday 03 September 2022. THE FOO FIGHTERS & FRIENDS live at Wembley Stadium. This is a Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert. The Foo Fighters drummer Taylor sadly passed away in March 2022. I saw Taylor play drums with Alanis Morissette before he joined The Foo Fighters. I saw Taylor drum with The Foo Fighters around a dozen times. Those advertised to attend include Travis Barker, Martin Chambers, Josh Freese, Violet Grohl, Justin Hawkins, Shane Hawkins, James Gang feat Joe Walsh, Brian Johnson, Kesha, Luke Spiller , Lars Ulrich , Nandi Bushell, Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Liam Gallagher, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Alain Johannes, John Paul Jones, Greg Kurstin, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Krist Novoselic, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Supergrass, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, Chevy Metal and a special appearance by comedian Dave Chappelle. MTV and others will be showing coverage of the event. ------------------- Needless to say i was really looking forward to this sold out show. Never seen such long queues for merch, both outside and inside the stadium. A nice long show that was on from 4.30pm to 10.20pm. The FOO FIGHTERS arrive on stage, and Dave gives an emotional speech. A superb opening as LIAM GALLAGHER sung two Oasis classics, with The Foos backing him. "Rock N Roll Star" and "Live Forever". An image of Olivia Newton John was on the front of the bass drum of the main kit. No proper interval and quick changeovers of usually just five mins. Lots of rock legends end up on stage tonight for our viewing pleasure. BRIAN JOHNSON singing two AC/DC classics with Lars from Metallica on drums. Two remaining members of RUSH play three of their songs. THEM CROOKED VULTURES and THE JAMES GANG feat JOE WALSH reform for tonight. WOLGANG VAN HALEN plays the UK for the first time , and plays two Van Halen classics. QUEEN play a great five song set with different singers. Every musician tonight had a connection with Taylor Hawkins. He was influenced by them or are friends. Why are Supergrass here?...They supported Foo Fighters on their 1997 American tour. Who are The Coattail Riders and Chevy Metal ? Both were Taylor Hawkins side project bands. Taylor Hawkins loved Jeff Buckley, so Dave Grohls daughter Violet sings a couple of his tracks. There were video clips of Taylor and tributes on the big screens from musicians during changeovers. Here are all the tracks played between Liam Gallagher and The Foo Fighters...
