Tuesday 12 September 2023....6.45pm to 10pm... REBEL - 30 YEARS OF LONDON FASHION - launch party - The Design Museum, West London. The show will feature nearly 100 innovative fashion looks from ground-breaking debut and early collections, many of which have entered pop-culture history — and launched global design careers. Highlights include the swan dress controversially worn by Björk at the 2001 Oscars, Harry Styles’ Steven Stokey Daley outfit from his video for ‘Golden,’ a unique replica of Sam Smith's inflatable latex suit by HARRI from this year’s BRIT Awards. Collections and work by JW Anderson, Wales Bonner, Erdem, Molly Goddard, Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha, Russell Sage, and many more will also be featured. These items will be shown alongside films, drawings, memorabilia and never-before-seen archive material from some of the most well-known contemporary UK-based designers. It is on from 15 Sept 2023 to 11 Feb 2024...it is a paid ticket for entry,... --------- Around 400 guests here tonight, including ALAN YENTOB (in shirt and braces), HENRY HOLLAND and STEPHEN WEBSTER. At 7.15pm we had speeches, then 7.30pm the DJ started playing some tunes. Lots of stunning creations in the various rooms , which included 'Art School', 'Club Scene' and a room dedicated to Alexander McQueen. At 8.30pm we had a full fashion show for around 30 mins from around 20 mainly black male and female models, which very lively and entertaining, then they got a few from the crowd to strut the catwalk. Complimentary Nyetimber English Sparkling Wines, Margeritas Cocktails, Peroni Beers, canapes and desserts throughout the evening. --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- Monday 11 September 2023...6.30pm to 9.15pm... M - showcase - 60 Threadneedle Street, London EC1. M is a stunning, multifaceted venue in the heart of the City, that houses a 130-cover GRILL restaurant, 130-cover private members lounge, a destination cocktail bar, a wine-tasting room and a secret den, in addition to flexible private dining and event spaces. Serving the finest steak in London, their steaks, which range from South African Rib eye to Grade 10+/A5 Japanese pure Kobe fillet steak, have been carefully selected from six individual countries (USA, Argentina, Japan, France, South Africa and Australia). The rest of the menu and the wine list come from the same six countries. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they serve the finest ingredients in their menus and match this food offering with the highest standards of hospitality. Created by Martin Williams (CEO of Gaucho), M boasts an all-star line-up; their Executive Chef Michael Reid formerly worked with Gordon Ramsay, Shannon Bennett and Michel Roux Jr, and as a rising star of British Chefs, he is regularly seen at the highest profile events and cooking on TV. ------- Another venue that is showcasing to get some business in from folks for Christmas bookings. Indeed for tonight they have a Christmas Tree complete with lights and baubles in the corner. We are in one of their many very plush rooms, all the 70 guests have cosy seats with tables. We get a quick show round of this huge venue with their many different sized spaces. They have curtains everywhere , for any groups that like a bit of privacy. The £16 cocktails can be had for £8 during their happy hour....5pm to 7pm daily... Certainly prices for food and drinks are on the expensive side here. Complimentary prosecco , wines , lagers and some very tasty canapes for all the guests.
